In 1986 I purchased a V12 Cabriolet
having test driven a 3.6 some time earlier and not been impressed.
I started to create a Register Xclusively for Cabriolets.
In July 1990 I aproached Jaguar Cars. and asked if they could supply me with a list of all the Vin's.
No such thing I was told, But feel free to search the Archives) at what was then JDHT, now Jaguar Heritage.)
As a start point I was told total number of Cabriolets built 4,993.
and that the first 3.6 Cabriolet left the Factory in 1984 & the First V12 was in 1985.
From the start I felt these figures were in fact wrong.
Several publication quoted 5,011.
In November 2008 I finaly located the last of them & the final count was 5013
Hopefully I shall be able to list them all on this great Web Site.
Here is the first.
Allthough the 3.6Auto did not get released untill much later, the first 4 Cabriolets built were in fact 3.6Auto.
And the first V12 Body No 5V001001
was infact built on Mrch 18th 1983.
& 5V001002 on 8th Sept 1983.

Sadly Bleasie passed in early 2020. He did indeed get all the raw records into this database in '09 with webmaster help. In the eleven years since he and friends collected more information as they were found sold or being sold on the net as well as information added by enthusiasts to the defunct ICR.org (International Cabriolet Register) website. The last website survivor exists today on Facebook, the Jaguar XJ-SC Targa Top register. Please visit it if you have a Cab or are interested in them.
