found alive and well.Sept 2017 Current Owner is from, West Midlands, Birmingham. This is a Tickford Cabriolet. Previously found For Sale on eBay Germany on October 15, 2015. Seller is a Jaguar Salvage Parts Company called Just XJS Ltd. located in Fauld, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire. Highest Bid offered was £ 1,550 but it had an Jaguar XJS Cabriolet, pre production factory prototype, with extensive modifications. Reputedly this is the car shown on the Jaguar stand at Earls Court in October 1983 to launch the new XJ-SC Cabriolet. It is the 24th Cabriolet ever built. Owned by Jaguar Cars for the first four years and used as Press Car and as a Demonstrator. The car has been extensively modified and the current specifications are: A 4 litre 6-cylinder engine fitted with AJ6 Engineering large bore plenum chamber and inlet manifold, AJ6 Engineering modified ECU, Lightened steel flywheel, Stainless steel large bore straight through free flow custom made exhaust, Alleged bhp is in excess of 300bhp, 5-speed Getrag gearbox. Brakes are Front, 15inch diameter AP Racing ventilated discs and calipers (same spec as XJ220), Rear, inboard AP Racing ventilated discs and calipers (same spec as XJ220). Stainless steel braided flexible hoses. Suspension is Jaguar Sport (Bilstein yellows) shock absorbers front and rear. Jaguar Sport front and rear anti roll bars. Harvey Bailey Engineering under body cruciform. Jaguar Sport steering rack. Wheels are 17 inch Jaguar Supercharged Saloon alloys with 255/45 ZR17 Tyres. The car itself has not been used for many years and will require complete restoration. The interior has been removed and placed in boxes, believed to be complete but will need restoration. A quick look underneath reveals an advanced state of corrosion in all the usual XJS places. Please assure yourself that this is no weekend project. I have not tried to start the car but will do so before auction end if that is possible". Per a message from Kevin Haslam on August 24, 2015, the car is now in a salvage yard. Jaguar Sales & Marketing pre-production special development car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
