This 1985 Jaguar XJ-SC was originally a German-market example which features a two-piece targa-style roof and was imported to the US as a grey-market vehicle under previous ownership. Power is from a 3.6-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and the body has been repainted in green over a Doeskin leather interior. Additional features include 15″ starfish wheels and a Pioneer CD player with auxiliary inputs. The car was acquired by the seller shortly after appearing on BaT in July 2014, with subsequent maintenance including reupholstery of the front seats and replacement of the alternator as well as more recent changes of the oil and spark plugs in September 2019. This XJ-SC shows 67k miles and is offered with manufacturer’s literature, a tool kit, a soft top boot, a roof panel storage bag, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The body was repainted in its present shade of metallic green under previous ownership, with the finished described as driver quality by the seller. The targa-style roof consists of two removable upper panels and a manually folding rear soft top. Corrosion is present on the driver’s door, and the rubber seals around the windshield and side windows are cracked.

Factory 15″ domed starfish wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Turanza EL50 tires that show pre-2000 date codes and should be replaced due to sidewall cracking.

The front seats and center console have been reupholstered in Doeskin leather over new foam in 2019 and are accented with burl wood trim on the dash and doors. The cabin floors have also been lined with Koolmat insulation within the last year. Amenities include an onboard computer, two USB ports integrated into the center console, and a Pioneer CD player with auxiliary inputs. A trim panel that covers the exposed under-dash wiring on the driver’s side is not shown in the gallery, but is included in the sale.

Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,800-rpm redline, and a bank of drum-style secondary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows just over 67k miles, 4k of which were reportedly added by the seller.

The DOHC 3.6-liter AJ6 inline-six drives the rear wheels through a five-speed Getrag 265 manual transmission. A new alternator and belt were fitted in 2016, while the spark plugs were replaced and an oil change performed in September 2019. The car is in need of two new catalytic converters according to the seller, and will not currently pass a California emissions inspection.

A November 2019 Carfax report shows history in California and no accidents or other reported damage from April 1986 to October 2014.

The sale includes owner’s and workshop manuals, a tool kit and jack, a boot that covers the folding top when stowed, a bag for the removable roof panels, an uninstalled Blaupunkt stereo, and an assortment of spare parts including shifter bushings, window and door seals, an engine wiring harness, Lemforder ball joints, and GAZ shocks.

Last seen in Tulsa, Oklahoma 6/22. This car was originally dispatched to Germany, very rare standard gearbox. Cars originally shipped to the North America had automatic gearboxes.
