Model XJS-C V12HE

Registration No D601 BCW
Engine No 7P52038HB
Chassis No SAJJNACW3CA141646
MOT July 2012

This 1987 example has an interesting story, which is detailed below.
The car was purchased by the current owner in October 1991, at a mileage of 45,000. It was used as a second car up until April 2000; mileage at this time was 74,300. Mot's during this period confirm the mileage.
In April 2000, following an engine failure due to loss of water at high speed, the car was taken off the road and placed in dry storage to await repair.
In 2006 a brand new Jaguar engine was sourced and fitted into the car but the car was not recommissioned at that time The car remained in storage for another 5 years, until February 2011, when the decision was taken to recommission the car and carry out servicing and repairs as found necessary.
The car was removed from storage and placed in the workshop of Mr Tim Davis, a Jaguar Specialist in Pembrokeshire. The necessary work was then undertaken during the summer of 2011.
The braking system was dismantled as found necessary. The back axle was removed to allow complete refurbishment of the hand brake assembly and its associated mechanisms.
The hydraulic fluid was changed and the complete system recommissioned.
The alternator was removed, completely overhauled and replaced.
The air conditioning compressor was removed, overhauled and modified to take current gas as per regulations and recommissioned successfully.
All interior roof lining was replaced using Jaguar quality fabric- Targa tops, hard top, door pillars etc.
New bonnet fitted and colour matched accordingly.
Petrol tank removed, thoroughly cleaned and new filters fitted as required, then replaced as all ok.
The new engine was checked out totally and recommissioned as found necessary.
The car was serviced and all fluids replaced with new.
The vehicle was road tested and sent for Mot test in July 2011, passed and then taxed and used throughout the summer.
Now described as being in good, all round condition, with a new V12 engine, which is barely run-in and a fully recommissioned motor car with relatively low mileage. The fact that is has the rear section Hard Top is quite rare and the general condition would make it a desirable example of a rare Jaguar.

Description Jaguar XJS-C V12 Cabriolet
Registration D601 BCW
Year 1987
Colour Old English White
Engine size 5,343 cc
Chassis No. SAJJNACW3CA141646

AMENDMENT: This car was fitted with a reconditioned engine, not a new engine as previously stated.
Dating from June 1987 this particular Cabriolet had just one owner for the last 22 years. The car has covered only 77,800 miles from new with a substantial service history but was fitted with a brand new Jaguar replacement engine some 2,000 miles ago.
Having spent some years in storage the car was fully recommissioned by Jaguar specialist Tim Davies in the summer of 2011 with a letter on file detailing the work carried out. New front brake callipers and front tyres have also been recently fitted.
Presented on Old English White with a Charcoal Grey leather interior, the car is said to be in excellent condition throughout and to drive beautifully with an MOT until March 2014. Supplied with all its original handbooks, it also benefits from heated leather seats and air conditioning plus all the usual XJS refinements.
