For Sale on eBay UK on September 22, 2016. Sold for UKL 5,200 with 99,100 miles.
1986 JAGUAR XJ-SC, 5.3 V-12 HE AUTO, TARGA TOP CABRIOLET. A very attractive Jaguar XJ-SC V-12 HE Auto Cabriolet finished in Gleaming Black Paintwork with Black Targa Top, Fondmetal Lattice Alloy Wheels and Excellent Leather Interior. A genuine Jaguar Factory produced Cabriolet providing open top motoring without the negatives usual in convertibles. The XJ-SC Cabriolet was manufactured between 1983 - 1988 prior to the release of the full convertible, and provides safety and stability in keeping with the Grand Touring sports car design. The MOT runs until June 2017 and there is a large history file with the car and several old MOT Certificates. Mileage is 99,100. The alloy wheels are in excellent condition as are the tyres which are all matching and were recently replaced. The car really looks stunning in Black with the contrasting Gold coach stripe. Very good chrome and excellent alloy wheels. There is very little noticeable wear at all to the interior with excellent Black Leather seats, Grey carpets with "Jaguar" emblem, the dash, dash-top and wood are all excellent too. The Targa Roof sections are easily removed and the original storage bag is present to keep them in the boot whilst not fitted. There is a Tonneau Cover for the folding rear section also. The Automatic Gearbox is very smooth and shifts up and down as it should. The car is equipped with a trip computer which still works perfectly. There are some negative points to be made which a prospective purchaser should be aware of. Whilst the Targa roof sections are in good condition, the rear section ideally should be recovered or replaced as the hood material has deteriorated quite badly, the rear screen has become very discoloured with some small tears to the outer edges, and although still usable, it does let down the otherwise superb appearance of the car. The cold start system does not always work as it should making it difficult to start on occasion, and I believe the spark plugs need replacing to cure a misfire. The electric aerial does not work and neither does the cruise control. Also, the oil pressure gauge is not working but the warning light does come on with the ignition and goes out as it should when the engine is started. A very impressive looking car and a great one to take to classic car shows which just needs some fine tuning and attention to detail. A practical classic to use too with the availability of Classic Car Insurance. Large boot space and storage compartments in the rear also. A very realistic reserve has been set and I would welcome any interested parties to view the car. It is currently taxed and insured.
VIN is SAJJNACW3CC131925 and it is a 1986 V-12 Auto. Body color is now Black, the original color was Steel Metallic. Previously informed the car was an insurance write-off January 13, 1987.
