Last Cabriolet built intended for the Australian market never left Browns Lane Handed to JDHT & has spent its life in the Meuseum @ Browns Lane

sadly it had to be sold off in 2009

It realised £21.000 in the auction

@ Silverstone last year is still for sale 7 months later for £25,000 still overpriced

I recently spotted the Advert for this car
To quote the seller
3.6Ltr V 12 Convertible
I wonder if Jaguar know about this engine.

For sale January 25, 2016 on classiccarsforsale.co.uk

For Sale: The Final Jaguar XJ-SC. The last XJ-S Cabriolet, sold by Jaguar when it slashed the size of its heritage fleet five years ago, is up for sale again. After buying the XJ-S with 1677 miles on the clock, vendor Chris Taylor has used it sparingly around his home on the Isle of Man during the time he’s owned it. It now has 4500 miles on the clock. The car was manufactured in February 1988 and bears chassis number 148594. It has a plaque confirming its end-of-line status, and the signature of then-Jaguar MD Sir John Egan. The car was taken from the line and put in the Browns Lane museum, then disposed of as part of a heritage fleet reduction in 2009. Chris said: ‘I’d done research on several websites as to which XJ-S I should buy, and this one looked promising when it came up. It was and still is in exceptional condition. ‘I’d always fancied an XJ-S. I’ve never had a classic before and this one was everything I expected. You can’t beat driving round the Isle of Man TT track with the roof off. Chris is inviting offers of more than £ 15,000.

Previously purchased by the London Car Dealer, Clive Sutton, for £ 31,016 and was soon after offered For Sale by Clive Sutton for £ 34,950. In February of 2010 it was still in his showroom, currently For Sale at just under £ 30,000. Believed to have since been sold. At the time the car was sold by Jaguar Heritage it had a genuine mileage of just over 1600 miles! Attended Cabriolet 2002. Jaguar Cars Company Car. Never was sent to Australia, it was kept in the JDHT Museum from new. Last car in Crimson.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
