Auction description:
Engine No.8S38158SB Chassis No. SAJJNACY3CC126800 Body Work Cabriolet Colour Red Interior Bone TrimLeather
- Fine example of Jaguar’s classic XJ-SC
- Rare Australian-delivered V12 SC Cabriolet model
- Extensive cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment
An original Australian delivered XJ-SC, this well-presented Jaguar was completed in September 1985 and originally supplied by Henlys Motors of East Hawthorn in February 1986. The logbook gives a business located in West St Kilda but the original Mastercare warranty card was issued to a gentleman living in the Sydney suburb of Wahroonga, NSW and the service stamps indicate the Jaguar was indeed kept in the Emerald City. The service book is stamped until 2009 at 156,002 kms but there is an extensive receipt file covering all maintenance since 2002 available for inspection, confirming the XJ-SC has been properly looked after. A member of the Jaguar Driver’s Club of Canberra, the penultimate owner purchased the XJ-SC in October 2009 and kept a detailed log book recording every trip and mileage until August 2020. In addition to routine servicing he spent a decent amount of money in 2014 improving the cosmetics, including retrimming the front seats and replacing sundry trim items. More recently the transmission was serviced in April 2022 and the rear screen in the folding roof has been replaced. A lovely example of this classic British Grand Tourer, the Jaguar comes with a tool kit, full books and a history file supplied and would make a fantastic club car, ideal for weekend runs. Currently showing 185,000 kms on the clock and part of a small private collection based in Sydney, the Jaguar is currently registered on non-transferable historic plates in NSW and will therefore be sold unregistered.
