We are proud to offer today this Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible with the further benefit of having only one lady owner from new.
The Jaguar was purchased on the 5th May 1988 from the Jaguar/Daimler dealers, Exeter Garages, Exeter, Devon. The original purchase invoice states that the XJS was delivered in signal red with charcoal trim and 12 months road fund licence which, with delivery, number plates and tax, totalled £37,115. After purchase the Jaguar featured in a TV commercial for the Shell oil company in which it played a starring role.
On inspection, the coachwork is, as one would expect straight, clean and its signal red finish being excellent and complimented by the Jaguar lattice alloy wheels. The original hood is exceptional considering its age and operates easily both up and down with the advantage of a hood bag to keep the top tidy whilst in the open position. The interior matches the condition of the exterior in that it is clean and tidy with no evidence of rips or tears. The woodwork is very good with no signs of the finish cracking or lifting that is common in most cases with this type of Jaguar. The overall condition, no doubt, as a result of the Jaguar always being garaged whilst not in use. Mechanically, the XJS is in very good order; the V12 starts easily and soon settles into a smooth idle with the gauges all working as they should and the electric windows operating smoothly and easily. A comprehensive history file includes invoices for works carried out by Jaguar specialists, all the MoT test certificates from new (confirming mileage), the original purchase invoice and various other items/letters. The book pack includes a stamped service record and warranty booklet, sound system handbook and an instruction manual. The Pièce de résistance within the file is the rather wonderful and beautifully photographed original sales brochure.
This glorious V12 Jaguar car ticks all the boxes, with that and a with a truly tempting estimate, this must surely represent an ideal opportunity for any enthusiast/collector.
Please note: The private registration plate is to be retained by the vendor. We are advised that an age related plate has been applied for and will be available to the new owner/by time of sale.
