Chassis Number SAJJNADW3DA154898
Engine Number 8S062438HA
Odometer reading 32,190 miles

Low recorded mileage
Excellent service records

We are delighted to offer this 1988 Jaguar XJS Convertible that was first supplied by Drabble and Allen Ltd., Manchester on 27th October 1988. This Jaguar has been in the current ownership for the past 15 years and significantly, the service records that reside within the Jaguar service book, along with the old MoT test certificates and the superb condition may suggest that these low recorded miles are genuine. The history file also verifies that the vendor has maintained the Jaguar well, attending to any work requirements as necessary during his tenure. The coachwork, presented in Signal Red, is in excellent order as is its contrasting cream leather and burr walnut wood trimmings. The car is well appointed with features such as an automatic gearbox, electric windows, electric seats and electric hood and Jaguar alloy lattice wheels with excellent tyres. We are informed by the vendor that the car will arrive at the sale with a fresh MoT test certificate and health check carried out by Sovereign Motors, an independent Jaguar specialist based in Worthing, West Sussex. This genuine UK supplied, right hand drive V12 Jaguar also comes with a UK V5C registration document, Jaguar book pack and history file.

Retaining the roomy cockpit space of the coupé, the convertible naturally boasts all the expected Jaguar refinements, making for a very fine, open grand touring car. The XJS's superlative 5.3 litre engine developed some 295bhp in fuel injected form and, when allied to automatic transmission, gave authoritative 150mph performance. Today, this model is very much establishing itself as a most worthy latter day classic, good examples being eagerly sought by connoisseurs of the marque. With this in mind, is there a better way to enjoy the summer months ahead?

Please note: The private registration plate pictured is to be retained by the vendor. We are advised that an age related plate has been applied for.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
