Car to be at auction 11/16
www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2016-11-26/cars/ref-80-1990-jaguar-xjs-conve ...

Auction description:
Lot 228 - 1990 Jaguar XJS Convertible
Registration G234 VUW
Chassis Number SAJJNADW3DB165410
Engine Number 850686135A
Odometer reading 73,111 miles
Estimate £9,000 - £12,000

This elegant XJS Convertible, offered in blue with a contrasting grey leather interior, has lived a remarkably charmed life having been being continually serviced since its purchase from Jaguar Stratstone of 21 Mansell Street, London on 21st March 1990 by its first keeper, Mr. R. Holmes of Basingstoke. The car is supplied with a complete book pack including a service record booklet with 22 main dealer service stamps with the most recent service carried out in April 2015 at 67,000 miles. The V5 is showing two former keepers; the first owner kept the car until 1993, the second until 2014. In the last two years, the car has been used on a three weeks tour of Italy, testament to the owner's faith in the reliability of the car. Along with a V5 document, an MoT test certificate valid until October 2017 with no advisories and the aforementioned service booklet and book pack accompany the car. This really is a fine example of the desirable and iconic grand tourer which begs to be taken back to the continent with the roof down to see exactly why Jaguar sold these cars so successfully.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
