Car to be at auction 4/22
www.carandclassic.com/auctions/1995-jaguar-xjs-with-sports-pack-43kW24
Auction description:
1995 Jaguar XJS with Sports Pack
Colour Red
Odometer 76,480 Miles
Engine size 3980
Seller Type Private
Location Devon
Country United Kingdom
Ex-Jaguar PR car
Low mileage
Great condition
Full leather
Lattice alloys
The car was manufactured in 1994 and was initially retained by Jaguar at Browns Lane for various press duties. As a result the car is very well specified, including the optional Bilstein suspension. The car was registered later, in 1995.
After its duties as a promotional vehicle, the XJS was given to a Jaguar executive as his company car for a short period before it was purchased from Jaguar by another gentleman.
This gentleman had it several years and then the current owner purchased the vehicle and has owned it for the last 15 years since 2007.
For most of that time it has sat in his private collection, maintained and cared for in professional dry storage unit but not used on the road due to not wanting to compromise its almost unique condition.
The seller is trying to reduce his collection and the vehicles that don’t get used often are first to be up for sale.
The Paperwork
The car has a wealth of paperwork including full jaguar main dealer service history all done at Woodford jaguar at every interval.
The V5C service books, manuals and even manual for the optional extra premium Alpine stereo are still present and are pictured in the listing.
The car has valid MOT until March 23 with no advisories.
The N20XJS private registration will stay with the car. Original spare keys and 1996 tax disc in its dealer holder in the screen. All additional supplements and warranty cards vehicle information are still present and in the original leather folder.
The Interior
The full leather interior is in great condition with minimal wear to the driver's seat bolster which is common for sports seats such as these. On the dash, the wood trim has fared very well and the cabin retains an air of sporting luxury.
The roof lining was sagging so has been replaced using genuine material by a Jaguar approved trimmer. The car still has the Alpine optional extra cassette player and CD changer which all works. The air conditioning also functions but would probably benefit from being re-gassed.
In the boot is a full size 5th lattice alloy wheel, genuine jack and wheel brace and complete Jaguar tool kit that it was supplied with from factory.
The Exterior
The exterior too is in great condition and is understood to still wear its original paint.
The electric aerial still works and the car is fitted with the desirable 16 Inch Lattice wheels and tyres with plenty of tread. The wheels themselves are in decent condition.
The chromework is in fine fettle and the Regency Red Pearl Metallic paintwork still has a nice deep lustre. Overall, you really can tell that it has been well looked after and it even still wears its original dealer sticker on the rear window.
The Mechanics
After 15 years indoors in a private collection, the car required a little recommissioning before being put back on the road.
The car has recently had a full refresh of the braking system with new brake callipers, brake hoses, discs and pads. The fuel system was also overhauled to avoid any damage from old fuel and new suspension bushes were fitted where necessary.
At the same time a major service was undertaken, a brand new radiator fitted after a thorough coolant system flush and new fuel, air and oil filters fitted.
The car is reportedly as silky smooth to drive as it looks, the automatic gearbox changes up and down as it should and there is a delicious exhaust note. In all, it's ready to be enjoyed.
