Car now offered at:
www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/jaguar/xjs/jaguar-xjs-pre-he-v12-5-3-a ...
Seller's description:
Beautiful totally original Pre-HE V12 XJS, with only 50,865 documented mileage and only 4 previous owners. All original documents including owners manual and wallet, Jaguar service book stamped up to 47,462 and all receipts and MOT's The tool kit, original radio cassette and proper card spare wheel cover are still present, not a later era vinyl one that's incorrect. Original carpets, door cards and black leather interior, all in excellent condition. The Signal Red paint work is gleaming all over and unmarked, save for couple of tiny chips. The black rubber bumpers are unmarked, as are the iconic original Kent alloy wheels, shod with Pirelli P4000 tires. Brand new MOT until 26th July 2019 with not one single advisory. This car pulls like a V12 Jaguar should and you have to learn to be lighter on the pedal, as its so quick of the mark, having had a full service and tune up. The air conditioning works perfectly, blows good and cold and the car starts and performs faultlessly, even in the hottest day of the year here in Suffolk at 32 degrees. The car comes with a matching red, full tailored indoor fleece Classic Additions car cover, two sets of original keys and the folder of paper work.
She has been in my collection for the last 10 years and is in fantastic condition having recently had £5,808.00 spent on her with world renowned Jaguar specialist "David Marks Garages"on a major service and restoration of mechanical items back to factory spec. Part of which was the front suspension that was fully rebuilt and she has a lovely tight steering feel now. All 12 injectors were sent away for service and recalibration, all fuel hoses replaced, new fuel pump, leads, throttle body bushes, belts, hoses, alternator, gearbox service and filters, new alternator, pair of centre exhausts, battery and many other items.
Only outstanding issues on this outstanding original car are the roof lining is sagging in places, but is the original one and has not done bad for 40 years!! and as they say, its only original once. There are two small areas of rust bubbling on return edge of boot surround, but they have never got any worse in my 10 years of ownership, so I have left alone and some of the stitching on the leather is starting to give, but the leather is perfect. I have the original plastic cill covers, if you want to return to factory spec, I just like the stainless steel ones when you opened the doors and they are only a push fit.
There are not many of these early Pre-HE Jaguars left now and certainly not in this condition and with the documented provenance this one comes with.
