Rebuilt by arguably Australia’s pre-eminent Jaguar specialist, this very nice 1983 XJ-S HE is finished in beautiful Cobalt Blue, a stunning shade of blue-green-grey metallic that is one of the standout colours of the era. Its paint is in near perfect condition, complimented by good exterior chrome and a good set of those great-looking period XJ-S alloys. Inside, it’s been fitted with a later-model (1988) interior with the factory Recaro-style scalloped front bucket seats. The beige leather of the seats and door trims are in great condition, showing just a little bit of wear, and the blonde wood highlights are excellent, as are the tan carpets. A modern Alpine stereo is fitted (the manual comes with the car) to an interior that is in great condition and has obviously been well looked after. Aside from the performance offered by the big 5.3 litre V12 engine, it sounds the business too with a sports exhaust fitted. A lovely car, possibly the best example we’ve seen, it comes with an original owner’s handbook and a small amount of paperwork. Originally built for a customer and subsequently run by a close family member of the specialist, this ’83 XJS has been thoroughly maintained to the highest standard.
