This car is listed on the Australian Ebay site. It is a heavily modified with twin turbos. It is suppsed to be one of a pair modified to near identical specs by Gary Walker Jaguar in Sydney in the 80s. This one has Haltech fuel injection management and near stock Lucas CEI ignition control.

The text of the Ebay auction says: It is the car pitted against the V8s in the Street Machine Magazine challenge in the 80s. We bought them both from Gary 10 years when he retired and our aim was to keep them as a pair. We are breaking up the pair and now offering this silver jaguar for sale as it is simply not used. I guess you could say 'one too many toys', and it is the one to go. It has been in storage all its life, hence the body of the car is in very good condition. The kilometers (58,779) dictate the condition of the body. The doors close crisply like a new car, there is no rust at all. The interior is very good, the woodwork is as new, the leather has dried a little, and some of the stitching has perished, but could be easily restitched. We had it repainted 9 years ago, and it has been in a garage under a car cover, the paint has a few crows feet now, but generally good. Also when it was repainted we had the turbos rebuilt, and the cylinder heads were reconditioned. It is currently registered in Qld, but we will consider selling it unregistered. Personalised plates will not be sold with the car., unless negotiated otherwise. Heaps of money has been thrown at this car over the years, including a John Goss front spoiler, and rear wing, flared guards, and Simmons mags to name a few. As it has been in storage for so many years, some areas may need sorting, eg, motor needs the injectors redone and it has manifold leak. We know the rear tyres are hard to source, (345 x 15), and to change from the Simmons mags would be a shame, but to get the best performance it may need to have a change in rim and tyre size. This car obviously is not a daily driver, but someone who wants to showcase a beautiful car with a colorful Aussie history would love to own this vehicle.

We thought it would be much the same mechanically but it is pretty much standard. This car's engine was built by Gary Walker Jaguar in the 80s, it is not an HE engine. As for specs - he would know, and he has retired. We bought it from him as the pair to what was his personal car (the black one) and have stored it ever since. We did have the heads reconditioned in 2001 and the turbos at the same time. The auto was also rebuilt (it is a Turbo 400) with a slightly increased stall. As for the suspension it does look lower than a standard XJS, the black car is lowered, and side by side they look much the same, but it could be the tyres. The car looks the part of the black one but without all the mods it has. As we have stressed it has been in storage and I can't remember the last time it was run, it was started yesterday to take it out of the garage for pictures, it is running roughly at the moment which is understandable. With some TLC this car would some up a million dollars just like it's sister. If you want the specs on the black car, just ask, as we will be selling it later.

When I say "pretty much standard", I mean the 5.3 litre engine, I don't know if it has forged pistons, and all the other things that the other car has, it does have a remapped Haltech fuel computer. 2 x 6 cyl units.

Hi, the Haltech fuel computer is located under the dash (under the glove box). Yes, the OEM computer has been bypassed , No the Haltech units control the complete fuel demands. Only the standard fuel pressure regulators. As for the specs on the other car it is entirely different as the Motec computer controls spark as well as fuel.
