www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2021-04-17/cars/ref-92-1995-jaguar-xjs-celeb ...

Auction description:

Ascot Racecourse April 17th 2021

1995 Jaguar XJS Celebration Convertible

Lot Number 183

Registration M375 JBD

Chassis Number SAJJNAFD3EJ222336

Engine Number 9LPFRB135103

Odometer reading 10,567 miles

Estimate £25,000 - £30,000 sold at £44,800

Very low mileage

Totally original condition

Originally registered on 1st June 1995, this XJS convertible is finished in Turquoise with Cream leather interior. The first registered keeper was the supplying dealer and when the car changed hands, she was lovingly looked after by the second owner before changing hands within the same family. Only one service stamp is in the service book in May 2004 when the mileage was 10,083 although clearly this Jaguar has been maintained to a high standard, she is unmarked and appears to be in totally original condition. Shortly after the service in 2004, the car was taken off the road and put into a professional storage facility. The current owner and vendor lightly recommissioned the XJS in 2016 and has covered some 500 miles during his stewardship. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a full years MoT test certificate, the Jaguar XJS Celebration signalled the end of an era. Low mileage original examples are becoming increasingly rare and highly sought after.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
