Seller's description:

1995 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible

Vin Number: SAJJNAFS3ER194567

Registration Number: H16XJS

Price: £37,000

This beautiful car is a 6-litre XJS convertible first registered on 22nd June 1995. The registration number is H16 XJS and this will stay with the car. It has covered only just over 43,000 miles since new, and this is verified by documents and MOT certificates. The current owner acquired it a couple of years ago and he understands that previously it had been in the hands of one family since new. The registration document shows three previous owners, the last of whom owned it since 1999. It is flamenco red, a darker maroon colour with full leather oatmeal trim.

The car has all the refinements that a discerning owner would expect, such as walnut wood finish, chrome trim inserts, chrome Jaguar-embossed door sills, power steering, air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, and electrically operated hood. There is a radio/cassette player, and in the boot is a multi-CD player. It has full-size spare wheel. The bodywork is absolutely 100% immaculate with no scratches or marks and the upholstery is in first class condition.

The current owner has installed a twin headlight conversion, LED lighting throughout and has fitted a pair of “Hella” fog lamps. He has also fitted a new burr walnut steering wheel and custom-made wooden gear-shift knob. The cigar lighter has been replaced with a wood-trimmed twin USB socket. It has a brand-new MOT, valid until August 2025 and passed its most recent test with no advisories.

Throughout its life this car has been maintained on a “money, no object” basis - and it shows! It is a very desirable and unbeatable example of an iconic vehicle and must be seen to be appreciated. You will not find a better one. The sale at this time is due to the owners age considerations and the car itself cannot be faulted.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
