On eBay UK on April 11, 2011.  Total of 8 Owners. Currently on SORN. Being Westcountry Classics a car Dealer near Penzance in Cornwall. Has 57, 134 miles.

Seller's description:

57000 miles, with mot's back to 1989 and early service history to prove the mileage. The bodywork is pretty good for an old XJS, largely due to it being inside most of its life. There is a bit of surface rust at the back end of the drivers sill, and a couple of holes in the lower rear quarter panels (just behind the rear wheels), other than that the structure, (floors, sills, bootfloor, etc) is all very good. The paintwork isn't that good, you can see in the photo someone has stripped a small area of paint of the rear quarter on the top, the metal is sound with no holes, I have squirted a bit of zinc primer on the bare metal to stop it getting any worse, generally though, the doors, bootlid, bonnet, wings and rear arches are in good order, so if the car was properly repainted it would look smart. The interior is again pretty good, it has the light wood trim which is apparently more desirable(!), tan leather which is all o.k., even the carpets will go again. The is a nice chunky Jaguar sport leather steering wheel fitted. The worst thing is the headlining material has come off the inside of the two removable roof panels, I gather this is a relatively easy fix with a bit of West of England cloth and spray glue.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
