Car to be at auction 9/14
classiccars.brightwells.com/viewdetails.php
Auction description:
Lot number 45
Estimate No reserve
Description Jaguar XJR-S 6.0 V12 Coupe
Registration H589 CDV
Year 1991
Colour British Racing Green
Engine size 6,000 cc
Chassis No. JSAES3BB172579
Engine No. 8W010230H0
Supplied new by Grange of Exeter in April 1991, this Racing Green example has covered 92,300 miles with 10 main dealer service stamps up to 71,200 miles in October 1995 plus a bill for another service at around 80,000 miles in 1996. Acquired by the vendor when it was just over a year old, it was used regularly until 1998 when it was put into storage.
Treated to regular runs down a long private drive to keep everything free, it was enjoying a comfortable retirement until fairly recently when the owner's teenage son decided it was his turn to take the beast for its annual run up the drive. Unfortunately, being rather more used to pedal power than the shove of a racebred V12, he lost control of the car and slewed off the drive, taking down a line of young trees in the process.
As you can see this has done the car no good at all, with severe damage to the whole of the driver's side and a cracked windscreen, although the car still drives well. The interior is in excellent shape with cream leather piped in Jaguar Racing Green.
Never recorded on an insurance loss register, the car could be repaired but would also make a good source of spares or the basis for some kind of V12 hotrod. The choice is yours and it is being sold here with no reserve so the highest bid takes it. It comes with the aforementioned service record, all its original handbooks and two sets of keys.
