The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 through to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was a competent grand tourer and actually more aerodynamic than the E-Type.
The last XJS was produced on 4th April 1996 ending its 21 year production life. The specifications of the XJS compared well with Italian cars, brisk performance and luxury in abundance; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph. From July 1981, the XJS received the new high-efficiency engine for much better economy; as a by-product, power was increased to 295bhp.
The ‘Jaguar Sport’ model added extra leather trim, motifs to the foot plates, ‘Growler’ bonnet badge, Jaguar Sport alloy wheels and de-chroming. Each of the 100 cars produced were individually numbered.

This stunning, limited edition, XJRS was originally registered on 25th August 1988 and is a bespoke model produced by JaguarSport and Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) Group to commemorate the marques triumph at Le Mans in 1988. Only 100 examples were built, this is number 22 and appears to be in original condition. Finished in Tungsten metallic with a cream Connolly leather interior, a burr walnut dashboard and sitting on the correct 15” JaguarSport alloy wheels. Standard equipment on these luxurious grand tourers includes electric seats with lumbar support, air conditioning and cruise control. This example is fitted with an original trip computer and Jaguar radio system. This extremely low mileage example is still sporting the original coachlines bearing the 1988 race winning XJR-9, this is a great indication of originality. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document showing only one previous keeper and an MoT test certificate valid until July 2021.The car has benefitted from a recent service and the rebuilding of the brake calipers. Given the mileage, condition and low ownership, this is a tremendous opportunity to purchase such a rare and well-preserved piece of Jaguar and TWR motoring history.
