This 1988 Jaguar XJ-SC has been the subject of a rolling restoration from its enthusiast owner of 10 years. The car is distinguished by a full Tom Walkinshaw Racing "Sport R" package, which features unique bodywork, sport suspension, and higher V12 engine output. Having received fresh mechanicals, new suspension, new paint, a new interior and more, extensive service history and all receipts are included in a large binder. The seller is a longtime Jaguar owner and will use sale funds on a 1964 Jaguar MkII project he is building for his wife.

The seller notes that although the TWR package was never officially offered on the XJ-SC, he believes this car was either a special order or dealer conversion. The TWR cars were built alongside XJ-SCs at the Tickford plant, though some kits were sent out to the field for dealer installation. Several attempts to confirm the build have gone unanswered by Jaguar, and the Miami dealer who sold the car new does not have old records available. The restoration was fully photo documented and the seller is confident that all panels are original, saying it was evident that the underside of the panels as well as the top coat were done at the same time and had been married together from new.

The interior was completely redone and looks very fresh. Triple vat dyed Italian leather seats were carefully chosen, as was custom African Babinga hard wood veneer and a brand new dashboard. Further work included a new headliner, full interior trim, Hartzel roof cover. and new seals all around. A Nardi wood steering wheel doesn't work on many '80s interiors but looks right here.

The 5.3L Jaguar V12 is said to be very strong following a full tune up including plugs, wires, fluids and filters. Injectors and engine plumbing were tended to including all new fuel injection seals, and a new stainless steel exhaust was installed. The transmission shifts smoothly after a service and fluid change, and brakes have all new rotors, calipers, pads, and lines. Thorough suspension work has the car handling well and included new front and rear shocks and performance springs, new tie rod ends, drag links, rack and pinion boots, and new sway bar bushings. Many parts were sourced from XKs Unlimited and all receipts are included in a large binder along with comprehensive service history and a clean Carfax report.
