Ebay item 12/2/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Jaguar-XJ12/282756351049
Opening bid US $2,600, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction buy it now price $3,400, seller edgarsledge, 60k miles, now Appleton, Wisconsin, previously Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin..
Sellers description:
I am offering for sale my 1988 XJ XC. This is a rare low production car that has T-tops and a removable back hard top and back soft top. Both tops are included with the car. The car is a V12 with only 60,000 miles and is in good to very good condition overall and with a decent body. Instead of saying how good or bad everything is I will just say that the hood needs to be re-cleared as the base paint is nice. Also both front seat bottoms need to be re-stitched as it has separated at the factory stitch point. The head liners have loosened on the Targa style T-tops and rear removable convertible hard top. The material is not torn and could be glued back down. Most of the above will be easy and relatively inexpensive to correct. I bought this car two years ago from a guy who was not the original owner or much of a mechanic. He told me that he backed the car out of the garage and it was idling and then shut off suddenly and would not restart. This was a ten minute event and the car did not overheat. That is the current condition of the car. Since I got it I have found that the fuel pump engages but the car does not have spark. That is as far as I have gotten and it represents less than an hour of work. I really like this body style and V12 and the unique design but I have a dozen other projects to work on and I don't like to have things sitting around that I never get to so the car is up for sale. Anyone is welcome to inspect the car and if you are Jaguar smart you may work on it test it or whatever. Further if you know these cars I would pay for advice on what to look for to get the car running. A V12 would be cool to drive and own.

Car returns to ebay 7/2/22
Car has a buy it now price of $4,500 for 28 days, same seller and photos, 60k miles.
Seller's description:
I'VE HAD THIS CAR FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS. USED TO BELONG TO A LOCAL GUY WHO SAID IT WOULDN'T START ONE DAY AFTER YEARS OF RUNNING GREAT. I BOUGHT IT AND MOSTLY STORED IT SINCE THEN. IT'S GOT SOME KIND OF ELECTRICAL RELAY ISSURE AND I AM NOT THE BEST WITH CHASING THOSE KINDS OF PROBLEMS. THE PICS ARE FROM WHEN I MOVED THE CAR INTO A NEW BUILDING. THINKING THAT I MAY NEVER HAVE TIME FOR THE CAR I'D LIKE TO FIND IT A NEW HOME. IT'S IN VERY GOOD CONDITION FOR IT'S AGE AND IF YOU ARE GOOD WITH TROUBLE SHOOTING JAGUAR ELECTRICAL MAYBE NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL TO MAKE IT RUN AGAIN. I HAVE THE REMOVABLE CONVERTIBLE TOP FOR THE CAR IN THE TRUNK. IT HAS CLEAR COAT FAILURE ON THE HOOD BUT THAT CAN BE REAPPLIED. IT HAS SOME SEAM SEPARATION IN THE FRONT SEATS BUT THAT CAN BE RESTITCHED.

Seller's description:
The Rare Beauty of the Jaguar XJS-C Targa 5.3L V12 - 1988.
This is a NO RESERVE auction. Schiedam, The Netherlands
Step into a timeless piece of automotive history with the 1988 Jaguar XJS-C Targa 5.3L V12. This beautiful classic embodies the elegance and performance that have made Jaguar a legendary car brand. The Jaguar XJS-C Targa is a rare and distinctive creation within the XJS family.
Introduced in 1983, the XJS-C combined the best of both worlds by combining a coupe and a convertible. The most striking feature of the XJS-C is the removable Targa roof panel, allowing drivers and passengers to soak up the sun while enjoying the car's sporty lines.
Although this Jaguar The car is in its original color code, LDP Dorchester Gray paint, but the paint has become dull and the clear coat has peeled off in places. To make this beauty shine again, the car will need a new coat of paint.
The original interior of this XJS-C Targa is still in relatively good condition and adds to the car's nostalgic charm. The dashboard is well preserved and still exudes the atmosphere of luxury that characterizes Jaguar.
The seats show some damage that can be repaired, but you can also choose to keep them in their current condition, which adds to the authentic character of the car.
Although the engine of this Jaguar XJS-C Targa has matching numbers and starts, we recommend that you carry out a thorough technical inspection before you decide to drive it. It's possible the car has hidden mechanical issues (we suspect bearing damage), and it's important to address these before you can enjoy the open road.
A reassuring aspect of this XJS-C Targa is the Clean Carfax report. This report not only confirms the car's low mileage, but also shows that the car has been little used over the last 15-20 years. The 2002 mileage was 51,358 miles, meaning the car has only driven about 8,650 miles in the past two decades. We therefore suspect that the car has not been used or has been used little for a longer period of time.
The 1988 Jaguar XJS-C Targa 5.3L V12 is more than just a car; it's an opportunity to breathe new life into a rare piece of automotive history. With its unique Targa roof, timeless design and distinctive character, the XJS-C is a valuable addition to any collection. It is a project that will be rewarded with the satisfaction of restoring a classic and experiencing the class and performance of Jaguar.
So, if you dream of owning a rare classic, if you long for the combination of style and performance that the Jaguar XJS-C Targa has to offer, then grab this opportunity with both hands.
