Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is presenting a 1989 Jaguar XJS for sale. This 1989 Jaguar is now owned by the son of its first owner. He tells us that it has received all its regular maintenance and a set of tires approximately 2,000 miles ago. This Jaguar is Blue with a gray interior. The odometer shows 83000 miles. This 1989 Jaguar XJ-S coupe is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Westminster Blue over Savile Gray leather. A limited-slip differential is fitted along with 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power-adjustable front seats, and a cassette stereo. The car spent time in Ohio and New Jersey before being acquired by the seller in 2022. Subsequent service included brake repairs and fluid changes along with replacement of the sway bar link bushings, battery, transmission mounts, and ignition components. This XJ-S V12 coupe is offered at no reserve with a shop manual and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Westminster Blue and is equipped with quad headlights, fog lights, chrome mirror caps, a power antenna, and dual exhaust outlets. Cracks and swirl marks are visible in the paint and rust is noted in the wheel arches and beneath the radiator.

Aftermarket 15″ wire-spoke wheels are mounted with Goodyear Assurance tires measuring 215/70. The seller notes the spare wheel is mounted on the passenger rear side and has black-finished spokes. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs. Service under current ownership reportedly included replacing the sway bar link bushings along with the front brake calipers and pads, the brake boost accumulator, and the tie rod boots. The car pulls to the right when braking.

The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in Savile Gray leather along with burl wood veneer accents on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. A cassette stereo is fitted along with a wood gear selector handle and automatic shoulder belts. The left window switch was replaced under current ownership along with the brake pedal pad and the console veneer. The air conditioning does not work, the interior lighting circuit has a short, the headliner trim is missing, the A-pillar trim is cracked, and a fuel odor is noted from the trunk.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 85k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. A mileage inconsistency is noted on the Carfax report and total mileage is unknown.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. Work since the seller’s 2022 acquisition has included replacing the battery, accessory drive belts, distributor cap, spark plugs and wires, electric cooling fan, air filters, and the vapor purge valve along with an oil change. Oil leaks are noted along with an exhaust leak, and the evaporative emissions system needs service.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The transmission fluid and filter and the transmission mounts were reportedly replaced in 2022.
