The Interior

Beautifully clean throughout

Cruise control

Sumptuous leather, polished veneer and all the electronic gadgets make this XJ-S’s interior a luxurious place to be, even by today’s standards. The driver is assisted by the optional cruise control and comforted by the electrically adjustable seats, while the digital display provides all the live data the discerning driver could need.

The carpets and overmats also look fantastic. To the rear, the boot (trunk) is in great condition and the spare wheel and tool kit are present and correct.

Interested parties will be able to view the roof mechanism functioning on the following link: vimeo.com/758008137/3545c82d17

The Exterior

Original paint is in excellent condition

Soft top like new

No signs of corrosion underneath

The vendor states that they have deliberately not polished the paintwork of this XJ-S in order to preserve the originality of the paint. So the next owner will be able to decide upon the best course of action.

As can be seen in the accompanying photographs, the seller has gone to great lengths to point out any blemishes to be found in the paintwork so you know exactly what you’re bidding on. These consist of a few chips and marks which we would expect to see on a car of this age.

The convertible roof reportedly functions exactly as it should and appears to be in almost new condition. And the alloy wheels appear to be blemish free.

Because of Canada’s harsh winters, this convertible XJ-S is said to have never been driven when there is salt on the road. And due to the clean nature of the underside, the vendor thinks that it may have rarely, if ever, seen rain.

The Mechanics

5.3 Litre V12

In excellent mechanical condition

The beating heart of this XJ-S is its 5.3 litre V12 engine, which produces a very respectable 263hp. Looking at this fine example of British engineering, it appears to have lived a sheltered life: the engine bay is very clean and tidy, with everything appearing to be to the original specification other than a couple of hose clips.

The vendor reports that the car drives exactly as it should, changing gear, braking and accelerating with that characteristic Jaguar directness. There appear to be no leaks or smoke.

In all, this car wears its 113,480 Kilometers very well and looks to be in remarkably good condition.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
