XJ-S is a precise tribute to the legendary Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) Jaguar XJ-S V 12 road car last available by special order through designated Jaguar dealers in the spring of 1988. Jaguar and TWR formed a partnership that year. TWR had previously won European Touring Car championships in the 1980’s running Jaguar XJ-S race cars.

The correct TWR features as confirmed by authentic TWR Sales Brochures and careful research include the following:

·     Rare five speed manual transmission option with overdrive fifth has been added yielding superior acceleration, with much improved highway economy (72 mph. is now 1900 rpm., previously 2900 rpm.) Road testers in this era agreed that a manual transmission is highly desirable in a V12 XJ-S. Only a few hundred four speed V 12 XJ-S cars were ever built by Jaguar in the seventies until TWR introduced the five speed manual option for the V 12 in the mid eighties. Jaguar never offered a V 12 manual of any type after the seventies, only the TWR five speed V 12 XJ-S which was available by special order through Jaguar dealers. Such cars are virtually “unobtanium”. 

Professionally rebuilt and installed Borg Warner/ Tremec World Class T 5 five speed manual transmission. This desirable conversion has been thoroughly sorted out, and now has only 12,000 miles on it including the clutch.

·     Authentic perfect condition 16 inch diameter, 8 inch wide authentic TWR Speedline wheels front and 8.5 rear Speedlines rear, rolling on excellent Continental Extreme Contact tires in the staggered TWR stance.

·     Authentic TWR Steering Wheel

·     Larger front anti sway bar and larger rear bar to TWR specifications with new rear links

·     Poly steering rack bushings quicken steering. TWR achieved the same result with valving.

·     TWR won the European Touring Car (ETC) championship for Jaguar in 1984 and the World Touring Car Championship in 1987, racing the TWR XJ-S. TWR’s racing team also won Le Mans for Jaguar in 1988 in a Jaguar XJR-9. 

·     TWR merged with Jaguar to form JaguarSport in May 1988 just after this car was manufactured.

·     Authentic ETC Championship and LeMans Celebration numbered sill plates using the number 007, the number of Tom Walkinshaw’s personal racecar.

·     Complete down to decals and documents from the TWR/Jaguar dealership at the town of Royal Leamington Spa near Coventry in England and TWR brochures.
