Ebay item 2/5/21
www.ebay.com/itm/1987-Jaguar-XJS/124558171499
Current bid: $2,247.22 no reserve 21 bids 5 days left in auction, seller adaptivevans, 79k miles, car now said to be in Tucker, Georgia, previously Westtown, NY
Seller's description:
We own a large factory in Atlanta where we build handicap vans but I have been a British car guy for over 50 years.
I just bought out a British mechanic's shop locally that I had used and got this car with my shop purchase. It is complete and looks pretty good. It has been sitting in this retiring guys shop for a couple years as I think he wanted to keep it a drive it when he retired. Well, Cancer pretty much messed up his plans. Anyway, I now have this 87 XJS-C and the Georgia title to it. I also have to many projects to do anything with it so it is going to the highest bidder here on ebay. These cars are really pretty neat. They are structurally more solid than the full convertibles because they have a complete roll cage. I do not know anything more about this car. I can tell you the the outside drivers door handle does not work and the rear top has been down so long that it has shrunken and will not completely close. My upholstery man says he would redo the rear top section complete for $450. The T-Tops are both there and pretty good shape. Leather is dry and car has real wire wheels that came with it as an option on older Pirelli tires. Spare is an alloy original wheel. Rear top boot cover is there and I have all the keys. Car rolls (as we pulled it up on my trailer) and engine seems free but I have no knowledge as to engine/trans condition. This is a 5.3 V12 engine car so it has the beefier rear end in case someone wants to put in a V8. Anyway, it will be a fun project for someone younger than my 73 years.
