This 1989 Jaguar XJS convertible was acquired by the selling dealer in August 2017, reportedly from its previous owner of 23 years. The car is finished in Solent Blue Metallic over a blue leather interior, and power is from a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated soft top, heated and power-adjustable seats, and automatic climate control. The valve cover and intake manifold gaskets have been replaced under current ownership along with the tires, front brakes, and several fuel and ignition components. Now showing 34k miles, this XJS is offered in Wisconsin with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title.
The car features a blue power-operated soft top, pre-facelift headlights and taillights, fog lamps, and rubber-capped bumpers.
Factory 15″ wheels are wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires that were reportedly installed in the last year along with fresh front brake pads and rotors.
The interior is trimmed in blue leather with matching floor mats over gray carpets. Appointments include automatic climate control, heated and power-adjustable seats, a trip computer, a factory cassette player, and burl wood accents that show cracking on the center console. Controls for a radar detector are mounted in front of the gauge cluster.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and a bank of drum-style secondary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows approximately 34k miles, 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 262 horsepower for the US market. Service completed in the last year has reportedly included replacement of the fuel pump, regulator and injectors as well as the valve cover and intake manifold gaskets. The battery, spark plugs, and ignition wires were also changed along with the distributor cap and rotor.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The selling dealer has reportedly replaced the transmission pump and fluid as well as performing an engine oil change.
The February 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage with history in New York and Illinois from January 1994 to January 2020. A summary of recent maintenance has been provided by the selling dealer
