Ebay item 6/27/16
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XJS-XJS-/252439926547
Opening bid US $2,500, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction, seller jaypeaz_auctions, 21k miles.
Sellers description:
1986 Jaguar XJS, V12, a true Barn Find, with less than 22K on the clock. I am selling this car for my brother-in-law, who found the vehicle last October in an actual barn owned by one of his clients. Read his descriptions , below, in quotes.
"Overall in good shape, strong V12 motor, under 22k miles, new brake pads front and rear, new brake fluid, oil and filter change, new battery, fuel tank was removed and cleaned, new fuel filters, floor liners and floor mats are new, AC was charged and works."
"Wiper motor stopped working shortly after getting it back on the road., needs a head liner (very inexpensive and easy,,>$50.00) radio needs a fuse (somewhere)
power antenna needs a grommet, aftermarket electric sunroof operates well but does have a slight water leak, (cheap fix, some work is involved) Blown tranny (3speed GM HT 400)."
"When the car was running it ran strong and turned heads, the tranny is a very common and durable one made by GM.
Because the car sat so long the parts of the tranny that were sitting in the tranny fluid all that time softened, weakened, and failed,
and now it slips and is unreliable for any length of a journey."
Rus does not appear to have perforated the sheet metal yet, so it should be taken care of right away.
Other small areas of "damage" are shown.
From left to right: Minor scuff on rear bumper, slight scratch on sail panel, adhesive residue over two wheel arches, from after-market wheel trim that came with the car, but was immediately removed.
Also, please note, the headliner was in tatters after sitting for so long, so a temporary panel was cut out of thin plywood and covered in cloth.
There is a very minor ding on the hood, which is very hard to photograph, but in the interest of full disclosure, it's right there.
The Jaguar passed inspection as soon as it was made road-worthy again, after sitting for a couple of decades, that's pretty good!
And, of course, a peek under the front and rear lids. 12 Cylinders of purring Jaguar! And a clean trunk to boot!
Somehow, I managed to take photos of only 3 of the all weather tires, but they are all in the same condition.
So, if you've ever wanted a 12 cylinder Jaguar as a project car, or wanted a nice low mileage V12 motor for your hot rod or custom boat, make sure you take a good look at this opprotunity and ask all the questions you need to.
This is going to be a great buy for someone!
This Beautiful 12 Cylinder Jaguar is offered here on Ebay for the first time. The car is currently located in Westchester County, New York. If you want to come inspect the car yourself, bring any equipment you'd like, this car will pass every test.
And, if you are REALLY serious about this Jaguar...bring a trailer. You can't test drive it due to the transmission, but you can perform ANY other test on it.
