I BOUGHT THIS JAG 15 MONTHS AGO AS A COMPLETED CHEVY CONVERSION THAT WAS DESCRIBED AS A DRIVER. THE CONVERSION WAS DONE BUT IT NEEDED TONS OF THE BUGS WORKED OUT THAT ONLY DRIVING COULD DO, HOWEVER WHEN I GOT THE CAR THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS BAD AND WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME. SO HERE GOES MY CURRENT DESCRIPTION AND WHAT I HAVE DONE TO THE CAR IN THE LAST 15 MONTHS.

WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IT HAD RECENT PAINT THAT I WOULD SAY WAS A GOOD JOB HOWEVER OVER THE PAST 15 MONTHS THERE WERE PAINT PREP ISSUES. THERE ARE SPOTS WHERE THE PAINT LETS GO FROM THE BODY YOU WILL SEE THIS IN PICS. ALL THE GLASS WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE CAR FOR PAINT ALL CHROME WAS PULLED AND NEW WINDSHIELD AND REAR GLASS GOT NEW SEALS. ALL THE GLASS IS GOOD.

SINCE I HAVE HAD THE CAR I HAVE DRIVEN IT 20,000 MILES BASICALLY OVER A 10 MONTH PERIOD. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT DAILY 116 MILES 6 DAYS A WEEK. THE CAR IS NOW VERY RELIABLE. THE ENGINE IS A CHEVY 305 I WAS TOLD IT WAS A 350 BUT IT IS A 305 5.0 LITRE AND IT IS MATED TO A TH350 TRANNY. I WAS TOLD BOTH WERE REBUILT UNITS FOR THE CONVERSION. THE ENGINE AND TRANNY ARE GREAT 55PSI OIL PRESSURE USES NO OIL ON A 3000 MILE OIL CHANGE AND TRANNY SHIFTS GREAT. I DID UPGRADE THE INTAKE AND CARB TO EDELBROCK NEW UNITS. WHEN HAVING THE INTAKE OFF THE INTERNAL ENGINE WAS SUPER CLEAN SO I BELIEVE IT HAD BEEN REBUILT. THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF WHAT I HAVE DONE TO THE CAR IN NEW PARTS.

NEW ALPINE CD STEREO WITH SATELITE RADIO RECEIVER ON DASH ALSO 4 NEW SPEAKERS BEHIND ORIGINAL SPEAKER GRILLS. I BELIEVE THERE IS THREE MONTHS OF SATELITE RADIO THAT IS PREPAID.

THE JAG RUNS GREAT , RUNS COOL, HAS ELECTRIC CORVETTE FAN FOR COOLING. HEATER WORKS GREAT AND AIR CONDITIONING ALSO WORKS GREAT.
THE PREVIOUS OWNER ALS HAD THE SEATS REDONE IN VINYL AND THEY LOOK PRETTY GOOD...

I AM SURE THERE ARE THINGS I HAVE FORGOTTEN SO ASK QUESTIONS. I AM ONLY SELLING THE CAR BECAUSE MY JOB LEAVES WITH NO MORE TIME FOR ANYTHING. I HAVE DECIDED I WANT TO BUY A NEW CAR.

1983 Jaguar XJS Coupe with Chevy Conversion. I purchased the car from a person who bought it from a party that had completed the conversion some years ago. He performed upgrades totaling about $4000. to make the car a reliable daily driver where he drove the car about 20,000 miles in one year before selling it to me. I have enjoyed driving the car the past year--performing minor repairs which would be considered normal for a car of this age. As you will see in the pictures, the body which was originally Maroon in color has been lightened to a metallic Rose finish--a budget-priced paint job. The sale is due to another car project that I have started. This car should be enjoyed and driven. The chassis has 114K miles--over 20K in the last two years. The HE model has the 2.88:1 gears to give an average mpg over 20. The engine is a High Output 305 from a 1984 Monte Carlo SS, with a THM350 transmission. It is upgraded with a new ignition, an Edlebrock Performer Manifold and Carburetor. The fuel tank was flushed and coated with the Eastwood system, and electric fuel pump added. The HVAC is an R-134A retrofit. The car weighs considerably less than with the V-12 engine--3500 lbs. The differential has been overhauled to include : new calipers, rotors, 4-coil-over shocks--as well as new front shocks. Recent 4-wheel alignment with the tires at 70% tread. The seats have been recovered in Naugahyde. The successful bidder will receive a full disclosure statement of all services I have performed on the car. This car is an excellent handling--soft- riding sports coupe with many miles left on it.
