Private Party Or Dealer: Private Party

This 1985 Jaguar XJS was delivered new as a coupe example to the Yarborough Motor Company of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and was subsequently modified into a convertible by Coach Builders Limited of High Springs, Florida. It subsequently spent time in New York and was later acquired by the seller in November 2021. The car is finished in red over black leather and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a black soft top, polished 15″ alloy wheels, power windows and mirrors, an on-board computer, and a factory cassette stereo. This XJS convertible is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Utah title.

The car is finished in red and was reportedly converted into a convertible by Coach Builders Limited in the 1980s. Exterior features include a black soft top, stainless bumper trim, fog lights, headlights from a later XJS, and dual exhaust outlets.

Polished 15″ five-spoke alloy wheels wear 215/70 Pirelli P5 radial tires that show signs of dry rot. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The interior features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Wood veneer trim accents the dash and the tops of the door panels, and amenities include power windows and mirrors, an on-board computer, and a Jaguar AM/FM cassette stereo. The stitching one one of the seams on the driver seat is unraveling, and the seller notes that the air conditioning system is not currently functional and that the windshield wipers are weak.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 45k miles.

The fuel-injected 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 263 horsepower and sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Repairs under current ownership include the replacement of the fuel pressure regulator, the fuel filter, the ECU, and the battery. The seller notes an oil leak from the underside.

Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale along with top folding instructions from Coach Builders Limited.
