I own this car now, and it lives near Branson, Missouri. I purchased it in 2019 with 39,000 miles, and immediately had to replace back brakes (expensive!), struts, shocks, battery, spark plugs, fuel pump, fixed air conditioning, and many other items small that were not working properly. It runs great now, but I was disappointed it needed so much work when I bought it at auction from some guy in Iowa who I contacted afterwards, and he touted the great condition of it when he sold it. It was not in great condition, and I dropped $3,000 into it right away. It is a great car NOW, after all the work I paid for. Everything works/runs well, and I'm working on minor interior cosmetics, like the burlwood console could use some love. Underside looks good, too. It has been mostly well cared for, but was neglected somewhat by owner previous to me. It gets a lot of good attention, and I've had offers from people who want to buy it. There aren't many XJ-S H&E's out there that look and run like this anymore from the 1980's.

Ebay item 6/3/22
Car has a buy it now price of $12,900, for 29 days, seller poodlep, 41k miles, Branson, Missouri.
Seller's description:
RARE FIND! 41,000 miles on this well maintained, VERY FAST, smooth V12 packed in a beautiful red/tan classic Jaguar XJS Hess & Eisenhart convertible. May have 42,000 miles by the time it's sold because I do drive it regularly.
Records indicate only about 2,000 were made with the H&E protocol changing it from a coupe to a convertible.
Recently tuned up and major work all finished (have paperwork), air blows cold/hot, all electric works.
Have original owner's manual and service book plus many extras (extra wheel emblems, wheel security nuts).
Includes a very good custom made cover by CoverKing.
Smooth, FUN daily driver. Great car.
No accidents, clean title and VIN check report.
FEATURES
V12 Motor, recently tuned, runs great
Automatic
Power options all work
Good paint, almost perfect, some small age-related blemishes, one spot of rust behind driver's door panel on outside (see photo)
Automatic convertible top works flawlessly and has nice low-profile boot cover (one blemish on cover, not torn, see photo)
Interior is in good condition
Nice dash, all gauges work
Cruise control
Heated seats
New brakes and suspension work done
New fuel filter with new inline filter to sump tank
New batter with cutoff switch for storage
Original radio/cassette player (it is a little fussy with tapes)
Air conditioner and heater both work great
Passed Missouri inspection in April
CustomCraft car cover, made for the car
Some historical records
MINOR ISSUES
Cracks in poly coating on burlwood center console, normal for age (I have a resource for replacement)
Driver's seat seam just opened up, otherwise good shape all around
Small blemish on convertible top that does not affect performance
Rust spot on back driver's side panel near wheel well, only exterior blemish
