This 1992 Jaguar XJS convertible is finished in black over tan leather and powered by a 5.3L V12 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include chrome 15″ cross-spoke wheels, fog lights, a Kenwood stereo with a trunk-mounted CD changer, automatic climate control, and a replacement power-operated convertible top. The car spent time in California and Texas before being purchased by the seller in 2011 and relocated to Illinois. Work completed in June 2020 consisted of replacing the front brake pads and air conditioning compressor as well as a refrigerant recharge, and an oil change. This XJS shows 15k miles and is offered with an owner’s manual, a tan top boot, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in black with a beige pinstripe and features full-width taillights, a chrome Jaguar hood ornament, and fog lights with Jaguar-logo covers. A replacement beige soft top was installed in 2011 and is equipped with a heated glass rear window. A matching top boot is included in the sale.

Chrome 15″ cross-spoke wheels wear 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. Four-wheel disc brakes were standard, and the front brake pads were replaced in June 2020.

The heated and power-adjustable seats are trimmed in Magnolia leather, and wood veneer accents the dashboard, instrument cluster, door panels, and center console. Interior features include an onboard computer, a Kenwood stereo, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a lockable storage compartment under the rear carpeted parcel shelf. The air conditioning compressor was replaced in June 2020 and the system was recharged with refrigerant. The removed cassette stereo is included in the sale.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, along with gauges monitoring battery voltage, fuel level, temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 15k miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the seller.

The aluminum 5.3L V12 was factory-rated at 263 horsepower. The oil was changed in June 2020. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.

This car was purchased new from Hornburg Jaguar in Los Angeles California and shipped to the new owner in Amarillo Texas.The original bill of sale as well as original books and manuals come with sale of the car.The car remained in Texas all of its life and was stored in a climate controlled enviroment.The original owner sold the car to one of his employee's who put 8000 miles on it.The original owner purchased the car back and has recently sold due to downsizing his collection.

The exterior paint is STUNNING with a mirror finish.The interior is a time warp example with every component reflecting the special care that has been given this car,it also still looks new.

The drive of the car almost better than s..,so amazingly smooth and tight.The car responds just as a new 12 cyl Jaguar would,tight,responsive and void of rattles,pulsating,or irregularities.

The soft top is new and crisp.

The engine compartment is like it was when it left the showroom in 1992,shiny and bright.

The wheels are void of damage of any sort with deep tread on the smooth running tires.

This car ultimately needs to go in a Jaguar collection or it could be the pride of a collection of one.
