Ebay item 7/22/21

www.ebay.com/itm/324722807291

Car has a buy it now price of $18,500, seller eri-goran, 28k miles.

This 1990 Jaguar XJ-S shows just over 28,000 miles. The car is finished in Jaguar Racing Green over Barley leather trim and powered by a 5.3 liter V12 engine. The engine was based on a prototype design by Claude Baily for an intended Le Mans car—the Jaguar XJ13. The XJ13 project was terminated in 1966 before the car was ever entered into competition, but the V12 engine design was reworked into a production-ready version, first installed in the Series 3 Jaguar E-Type of 1971. It was paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes four wheel disc brakes, cruise control, and power operated convertible top. Acquired by the current owner in May 2021, this V12 XJ-S Convertible is offered with a good Carfax and clean Minnesota title. This XJ-S has a manufacture date of 05/90 but according to CARFAX was titled for the first time on March 30, 1993 in Mound, Minnesota with just 50 miles on the odometer.

The car is finished in Jaguar Racing Green Clearcoat and features mesh wheels and a black cloth top. Additional equipment includes a power antenna (which is currently inoperable), fog lamps with factory covers, and a black convertible boot parade cover.

This XJ-S was enjoyed by the previous owner from 2012 to 2021. He drove approximately 10,000 miles during his time with the car.

During his ownership the vehicle was serviced by Quality Coaches of Minneapolis, MN. Over the years, the car received a transmission, coolant, fuel system, and brake fluid flush, new tires, fuel pump and pressure regulator replaced, and a crankshaft position sensor.

The 15″ mesh wheels currently wear Grand Am Radial GT tires that measure 235/60R15. The tires show no evidence of hardening or dry rot, though they are believed to be 9 years old.

The cabin is upholstered in Barley leather with matching carpets and Burled wood trim. Amenities include heated bucket seats with lumbar, cruise control, and a Pioneer Head unit with Bluetooth sits in place of the factory system.

The leather presents well, with no cracking or excessive wear. The chrome Jaguar embossed sill plates have light scratches visible and the burled wood laminate on the center console shows some cracking on close inspection.

The 5.3 liter V12 runs smoothly with no smoke, and shows evidence of regular maintenance. The air conditioner blows cold, and all the belts and hoses appear in excellent condition.

The current owner has put almost 1,000 miles on the engine this summer with no issues other than some light fluid drips observed on the floor. All fluids have been checked and no fluids have needed to be added during that time. The car received an oil service and new air filters this spring.

The 3-speed transmission shifts smoothly and the Jaguar cruises well at interstate speeds. The engine is quiet and the ride comfortable.

The brakes were checked at Jaguar of Richfield in July of 2021. The all pads and rotors were found to be good at that time. The underside of the car was given a cursory examination and nothing was observed by the technician that required immediate attention.

An airbag steering wheel frames an analog speedometer and tachometer along with barrel-style gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel, and voltage. The odometer currently indicates just over 28,000 miles.

The Jaguar Racing Green Clearcoat was buffed by O.C.Detail of Eden Prairie, MN before being coated with a quality wax treatment.

The paint shows very well, with only a couple small rock chips on the hood. The car was delivered new with gold pinstriping which was removed prior to buffing for a cleaner look.

All of the chrome is spotless, indicative of this vehicle being carefully stored away indoors when not in use.

The aluminum block 5.3-liter V12 (HE) version of the engine debuted in 1981, using special high-swirl design cylinder heads. Horsepower was listed as 262 at 5,000 RPM with 290 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,000 RPM.

The battery is mounted in the trunk with an aftermarket shut-off switch on the positive terminal. A full sized matching wheel and spare rest beside the battery under a vinyl cover.

The June 2021 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists its Minnesota history. The last odometer reading was 24,631.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
