This 1990 Jaguar XJS convertible is finished in Jaguar Racing Green over tan leather and powered by a 5.3-liter SOHC V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated black convertible top, 15″ alloy wheels, fog lights, air conditioning, an onboard computer, heated seats, and a Jaguar cassette stereo. The car was purchased new by the seller at Rosenthal Jaguar of Vienna, Virginia, and the battery was replaced and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale. This XJS shows 48k miles and is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a copy of a May 1990 sales invoice, a September 2022 service invoice and inspection report, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Jaguar Racing Green (HEN) with contrasting pinstripes as well as a power-operated black convertible top. Additional exterior details include a soft top boot, a retractable antenna, a trunk-mounted third brake light, fog lights, and impact bumpers with black rubber and chrome trim. Photos show dings in the driver-side front fender and the passenger-side door as well as blemishes in the finish on the hood.
Basketweave-style 15″ alloy wheels wear Jaguar-logo center caps and are mounted with older 235/60 Pirelli P600 tires, and a spare wheel wearing a vinyl cover is located in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners. The seller states that the left-front brake caliper is sticking, while a September 2022 inspection reports a vibration at speed and notes that the ABS malfunction lamp is illuminated.
The heated bucket seats feature electrical lumbar support adjustment and are upholstered in tan leather, and they are joined by a color-coordinated center console and door panels. Equipment includes woodgrain trim, air conditioning, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, an onboard computer, and power windows and locks. The seller states that the left side of the headliner shows wear, the passenger-side sun visor has a broken clip, and the passenger-side seatbelt buckle has been replaced.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 48k miles.
The fuel-injected 5.3-liter SOHC V12 was rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller notes various oil leaks and states that the hood shocks need to be replaced. A battery cut-off switch has been installed by the seller. The oil was changed and the battery was replaced in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional photos of the underside are shown in the gallery below.
Manufacturer’s literature and a copy of a May 1990 sales invoice will accompany the car.
