Bought this Jaguar approx six months ago and have had no problems or concerns about driving it anywhere. Its all origional with all the usual power options and everything is working properly. Have not had to do anything except add gas (V12 origional engine-REBUILT-engine) and drive around to show it off. I have kept the Jaguar garaged and only drive about 250 miles each month) I have never driven it to town without at least one person coming up to me with a " nice car " or "thats a real beauty" and of course the "I used to have one" story. This is a real head turning Jaguar with its great looking blue/silver shinny paint and no sun damage, always garaged. Driving this Jaguar has been like a dream come true as Ive always wanted to own one with this type body style. Im now semi-retired and figured what the heck so I now have two Jaguars ( 89 & this 90 XJS) please dont ask as its a long story but I ended up with two Jaguars. Im not able to afford insurance and maintance on both these cars and can only drive one anyway. Selling the convertible because its in the best shape with doesn't need anything but I need some additional funds to get all the work completed on the 89 Jaguar. As to the 90 Jaguars condition, its in excellent shape both inside and out with no tears in the interior or the top (looks almost new). The body has no signs of any rust anywhere and doesn't need any repair work done, as far as I can see there are only a couple paint dings over the rear wheel. The engine was completely rebuilt (Feb 2006) with approx 3000 new miles since then. I have receipt for the engine work done by Delongs Automotive Jaguar Repair in Campbell Calif. The bill shows at total charge of $8,136.00 paid with Auth Code 014450. Very good amount of tread left on the tires and the only problem seems to be the A/C needs a recharge and may need the front bushings looked at in the future. The tranny was serviced about 6 mo ago and along with a couple of small priced items (new battery and blinker bulbs) thats the only work done, since I've owned it. Im always nervous when I first get another car and always have it checked over right away. Passed smog inspection without any problem and new tags issued in August (paid all past due and fines). As you can see, there arent many classic Jaguars in this condition, if you could find any and as much as I know Im going to regret it, I must sell this one. I dont expect to get my full purchase price back but I will never regret owning this great automobile. Im sure that someone else will really get a lot of pleasure out of driving this unique beauty also.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
