Ebay item 3/26/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1994-Jaguar-XJS/123041270838
Current bid: $1,075 4 bids 4 days left in auction, seller roadrunnermotors, 58k miles.

Sellers description:
Here is a car that is rapidly going up in value and people are finally starting to realize how good these 6 cylinder 4.0 jag xjs really are ,they are dependable, trouble free and fast. With vintage jaguar xke prices through the roof the forgotten xjs has really started to catch on and the 6 cylinder cars are the only way to go, this car comes from a local millionaire that is selling off his toys and moving to his estate in Austin texas so he brought it to me and said sell it. I have owned dozens of jaguars and this is a good one . This car only has 58,892 miles on it and it runs and drives great as it should, the power top works, the ac is cold , the paint is nice but it has been repainted on the left front fender but no evidence of wreck damage, the seats appear to have been recovered but maybe not, they look nice the top has been down in the hot sun and the wood has some small cracks but very nice , the interior is very presentable, the motor compartment looks like new with only minor dust here and there, the trunk is complete and has the top boot still in the protective bag, the undercarriage is clean as can be, never been in the snow .the right rear tail lens has a hole or crack but is easy to buy and replace.

This two-owner 1994 Jaguar XJS Convertible represents a bygone era of design-focused, long-hood luxury grand tourers. The XJS was one of Jaguar’s most successful models, built over a 21-year period through 1996, with the factory convertible introduced for 1989. The Jag, which spent its first 24 years in Texas, is presented as original, with a new top and headliner installed in 2021. “There are no issues with this car—it runs great,” the owner remarks. The two owners and low miles are corroborated by the Carfax report, which also shows an absence of reported accidents or damage.

This convertible has the smooth and strong Jaguar 4.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. The 1994 model was the first XJS with dual front airbags, and this car is also equipped with anti-lock brakes. The seller, who purchased the car in 2020, says he has enjoyed owning and driving it but recently bought something to replace it.

POWERTRAIN

The Jaguar AJ6 4.0-liter engine was from the carmaker’s second series of inline sixes. In the 1994 XJS, it was rated at 219 horsepower by the manufacturer when new. The seller reports “no issues at all” with starting and running, and also affirms there is no smoke, nor any leaks or weeps. Photos show a clean engine compartment and underside. The four-speed automatic overdrive transmission is likewise given a clean bill of health by the seller. The seller indicates a new Interstate battery and includes a photo showing it in this model’s trunk location.

EXTERIOR

As one of the last in the series, this ’94 XJS wears the elegant restyle that debuted two years earlier, highlighted by the European-style headlights and full-width taillight panel. The seller sums up the body and paint condition in one word: “Great.” He reports no cosmetic issues. The power convertible top, which he indicates was replaced in 2021, is affirmed to operate and seal properly. A video showing its operation is included. No problems are reported for any lights.

INTERIOR

A classically styled and appointed interior was always an XJS hallmark, and photos show the cabin of this convertible to be in excellent overall condition. Just a minor patina can be seen on some surfaces when magnifying photos, but that comes with a reminder that this car is nearly 30 years old. The seller reports no cosmetic issues for any of the leather surfaces, wood trim, or carpeting. The “AFW” trim tag on the door jamb (see photo) confirms this car’s exterior color and the Barley colored leather interior. The heat, air conditioning, power windows and locks, power seats, gauges, and lights are confirmed to work. The stereo is believed original to the car and likewise affirmed to operate properly.

CHASSIS

The Jaguar XJS was renowned for delivering a well-rounded balance of agility and comfort. A big contributor here was the independent rear suspension that used dual coilover units per side. By 1992, Jaguar had replaced the inboard rear disc brakes with conventionally mounted brakes, greatly easing servicing. The seller reports “zero issues” for the steering, suspension, brakes, and wheels and indicates that the Futura GLS Super Sport tires are 1.5 years old with minimal miles and nearly full tread. Photos show just light surface oxidation on the underside that would be consistent with the car’s age and miles.

DOCUMENTATION

The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on a clean New Jersey title in his name. This 1994 Jaguar XJS convertible closed an era for the brand, and there’s really nothing new like it today from Jaguar or its competitors. With low, confirmed miles, no reported accident damage, and apparent good care over its 28 years, this two-owner luxury convertible is ready for more high-style touring.
