Car returns to ebay 1/26

www.ebay.com/itm/127605268226

Classified ad price $28,500, seller classicautomall, 14k miles, car now in Morgantown, Pennsylvania.

Seller's description:

For consignment, a 1995 Jaguar XJS convertible with a title verified 14,254 actual miles. This is a two owner, garage kept Jaguar, to many, is one of the most beautiful cars ever produced for the street and here in Jade Green Pearl Metallic, has astounding curb appeal.

Exterior

Bathed in two stage Jade Green Pearl Metallic, the key to this car's design is a sleek body style with a trim body, yet a muscular stance which is often seen on some of the world's finest grand touring automobiles. The car's straight panels are accentuated by the desirable composite headlights, bordered on the bottom by an integrated color keyed bumper under a black grille and chrome trim. In back, the XJS's facelift includes smoked tail lights now in a horizontal arrangement over a stunning jade bumper and two exhaust tips. 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels carry 225/60R16 tires with a late 2022 date code. On top is a black canvas convertible top with a glass rear window that is in superb condition. Imperfections are limited to some scuffs on the front spoiler and some clear coat issues on the wheels. The paint and trim is in beautiful condition and the color presents very well.

Interior

A swing of the doors reveals Oatmeal leather on the door panels with a wood veneer strip near the upper sill of each door and it looks fantastic, accompanied by a carpeted panel around the speaker. More honey colored burlwood covers other parts of the dash nicely and blends well with the beige leather, including that of the front bucket seats which are in very good condition, and we note a stain on the otherwise clean 2+2 rear seats. Back up front, the black gauges are embedded in a wooden faceplate in a concise array of instrumentation while the center is reserved for a clock and AM/FM/Cassette radio. A modest shifter resides in the center console, also framed in wood, flanked by ashtrays and accompanied by black switchgear, all presenting nicely. Low pile gray carpet covers the floor matched by the Jaguar mats and the deep trunk is finished with gray cloth panels.

Drivetrain

Lift the back of the hood forward and you'll reveal a clean 4.0 liter inline six cylinder DOHC power plant that generates 229 horsepower, fuel injected and mated to a ZP4H24E 4-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the rear axle with 3.54 gears.

Undercarriage

Low mileage and a pampered life has resulted in a clean underside. Here we have power disc brakes on all four wheels and a dual exhaust system that runs through original equipment and exiting with some panache through chrome tips. Suspension consists of coil springs up front and coil overs on the independent rear.

Drive-Ability

The supple leather invites you in and the wood trim keeps you there. Even before we start the engine, it's clear that this is a nice place to be. And with that, we turn the key and the six cylinder fires up without hesitation. We roll the car onto the test loop where it does everything well, from tracking to handling to braking, and looks darn good doing it. Here's an XJS where every function on board operates as it should and we take it inside where it will be protected from nasty things like rain.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
