Car to be at auction 3/15

Auction description:
1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible

Lot No. 117

To be offered on Friday, March 27, 2015
Estimate: $ 20,000 - $ 25,000

The major mechanical upgrades in the XJS 4.0-liter were accompanied by modest, but noteworthy, visual changes. The five-spoke 16-inch wheels with a diamond-turned finish were now standard. The center cap of the wheels carries a silver growler on red background, while the leaper badge on the front fender sports a matching red background.

A considerable visual upgrade to the interior was accomplished through the use of a new four-panel seat design. Lighter interior colors were introduced after interaction with Jaguar's valued customers, as well as a finer quality of leather itself. Additional covered trim components were more in evidence in this upgrade of luxury.

This particular car is reported to have just two prior owners and has been sparingly used during its 20-years. The 4.0-liter inline-six engine produces 245-hp and is joined with a four-speed automatic transmission. Rich in its color presentation, it is stated to be "absolutely perfect in all aspects."

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
