Ebay item 12/9/19
www.ebay.com/itm/1989-Jaguar-XJS/114007074502
Opening bid US $1,000, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction, seller chronicnetpro, 121k miles.
Seller's description:
This vehicle is affectionately known in the Jaguar community as a "LUMP" (less upkeep, more performance). I didn't do the conversion, I bought it that way. The man did a nice job. The engine is a Chevy 350 TPI V-8 from a Camaro. I don't know the vintage or miles on it.
During my ownership, I have concentrated on the mechanical, and it has had:
Full tune-up, new cap, rotor, heavier spark plug wires.
New injectors
New transmission (TRC, receipts in car)
New steering rack (Evergreen Automotive, receipts in car)
Fuel tank cleaned out
Auxiliary fuel tank removed, cleaned, reinstalled.
Right front bumper replaced (it was crunched when I bought it)
New accelerator cable
New battery
I've replaced the stock dash bulbs with blue LED's ('cause ya need that. And it looks cool).
Comes with:
Jaguar manual, as well as a manual for Chevy Camaro.
It also comes with a particular lug wrench (not sure what to call it, maybe a giant socket wrench) that makes lug nut removal a breeze.
I just bought a tube of Solent Blue touch-up paint, and clear coat.
The body is pretty straight. The paint is almost 30 years old and has some areas of oxidation.
It drives nicely, runs smoothly, and you will absolutely get in trouble if you have a "heavy foot". This car will go like a rocket.
It is "mondo fun" to drive. I always get comments from people when I'm out and about. The interior is in pretty decent shape,
except there are a couple of tears in the driver's seat that I've not addressed.
Needs:
A headliner
Visor mounts
Driver's side shoulder harness
