This 1993 Jaguar XJR-S is one of 100 total XJR-S models built by JaguarSport for the US market, 50 of which were coupes. The XJR-S was produced under the JaguarSport name as a joint venture between Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racing; best known for their 1988 and 1990 victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The XJR-S was hand-built alongside the XJ220 supercar, and power is from a TWR-built 330-horsepower 6.0L V12 paired with an automatic transmission. XJR-S models also feature a unique aero kit, numbered placard, sport-tuned suspension, and more. Jaguar XKR wheels have been installed, and the removed Speedline wheels are included in the sale. The seller has owned the car for approximately 17 and a half years, and its odometer shows less than 51k miles. This XJR-S coupe is now offered with keys and remotes, factory books and manuals, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
Per the Jaguar XJR-S Registry, 50 XJR-S coupes were produced and just two were finished in Flamenco Red as on this example. The XJR-S features a unique aero kit with rear spoiler, color-keyed bumpers with black impact pads, tinted taillamps, and black and chrome exterior trim. The seller reports that the car has been garaged and covered when not in use during his 17-year ownership.
A set of staggered-width 18″ wheels from a Jaguar XKR are mounted and fitted with Pirelli PZero tires. The staggered-width 16″ Speedline aero wheels are included, and the seller reports that the fitted Goodyear Eagle tires are original. The service manual reportedly denotes more than 175 unique parts on the JaguarSport-built XJR-S not seen on the standard XJS.
The cabin is trimmed in light beige Connolly Autolux leather with matching carpets contrasted by a black Alcantara headliner, and black dash along with walnut sapwood veneers on the dash, doors, and center tunnel. The car is equipped with an aftermarket sound system, including Infinity speakers, a rear subwoofer, and CD changer. A concealed K40 front and rear radar detection system is installed, and the car retains a CellularOne car phone on the center tunnel.
A silver placard from the jeweler Asprey denotes this example as #49 produced for the 1993 model year. Factory instrumentation carries the JaguarSport logo and includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a quartet of auxiliary gauges. Just under 51k miles are shown on the six-digit mechanical odometer, approximately 3k of which were added by the seller.
JaguarSport increased the V12’s displacement to 6.0L using a new crankshaft, which lengthened the stroke to 78.5 millimeters, as well as new forged pistons with a larger combustion area. Engine management was from Zytec, and the car was also equipped with a modified intake, a dual exhaust system, and a recalibrated valve body for the GM-sourced automatic transmission.
Factory-rated output was 330 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. The seller reports that this car has been maintained as part of a collection, with a new transmission mount fitted last year and annual oil changes.
The suspension was also revised by JaguarSport, including higher-rate springs and model-specific Bilstein shocks.
The factory wheels, tires, keys, remotes, and Jaguar-branded car cover are included.
The Carfax report shows ownership in Illinois and Massachusetts from new. No accidents or other issues are noted.
