For Sale May 29, 2016 on eBay UK. Current bid is UKL 632 with 99,781 miles. Has No Reserve Price.

1987 Jaguar XJ-SC 5.3 V-12 four seat conversion with two sets of alloy wheels. I've owned this car since 2003. I SORN'd three years ago intending to store it until I could afford to have the bodywork repaired. At the beginning of Spring I took it out of the garage to check what needed doing but not only was the rust still there the lining on the roof sections were sagging or rotten. The main rust areas are the rear wheel arches, sills and the bottom of both doors. Having little or no DIY skills and even less cash I have reluctantly decided she has to go. When initially put into storage she was mechanically sound and a wonderful car to drive. I have started her regularly and with a boost starts first time. The oil pressure looks good. Unfortunately on one of the occasions I started her the alternator belt snapped and the battery flattens pretty quickly so she doesn't run for long. In addition there are binding brakes which makes it difficult to move her and of course she hasn't been on the road for a long time. I have checked the electricals it is possible to check without having to run her for very long and apart from the headlight washers everything seems to be working. The chrome is good. The leather interior is in need of TLC but apart from the usual wear on the drivers seat piping the whole doesn't look too bad. I am including two sets of alloys wheels (the original fish eyes and newer lattice) but both sets are in need of refurbishment. The tyres on all the wheels including a steel spare are too old to recommend using on the road. When she goes a trailer or a low loader will be needed and because of the binding brakes a winch may be required to load her.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
