Car now offered at:
ckl.co.uk/sales/1983-lynx-eventer/

Sellers description:
1983 Lynx Eventer - 5,027 Miles

Registered new in 1983 to Patrick Motors Ltd, Birmingham, this XJS was one of the first to promptly arrive at Lynx to be up-graded to 'Lynx Eventer' configuration - The acclaimed and collectable shooting brake conversion.

For the next 30 years, this time-warp early Eventer (believed to be number 2) was to reside in the Patrick Motors Museum. Stored in ideal conditions, the car covered an exceptionally low mileage of just 4,652 miles in the 30 years with the Patrick Collection.

Passing into the second owner's guardianship, the Eventer has been enjoyed sparingly on only the driest of days and smallest of journeys, to bring the car to its current staggeringly low mileage of 5,027 miles. It has been subject to very careful re-commissioning to deal with any small areas which may have deteriorated with age, such as suspension bushes.

Exterior finished in Coronet Gold with sumptuous brown leather interior, the Lynx conversation allows for a comfortable 2+2 seating arrangement, or a spacious 6 ft long rear load area.

The car is as it was in 1983, wearing its original Pirelli tyres on the upgraded 5-spoke (starfish) alloy wheels.

The number plate XJ V12 is included in the sale.

This totally remarkable motorcar is presented in quite excellent and original condition. It must be the world's lowest mileage Lynx Eventer, and it may well be the lowest mileage XJS too. A secure investment in unique condition.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
