Car has a buy it now price of $9,989 for 6 days, seller mcnamaracarco, 42k miles.

Seller's description:
I am selling this One owner 1989 Jaguar XJS V12 that has just come out of 10 years storage under a car cover in an airplane hanger. This car was used to drive from Upstate NY to Florida. This has to be one of the most original examples out there. Kept as a show condition Jaguar that was pampered. At 85 years old it's time to move on they said. It was worth the $57,000 new. That's $116,600 in todays dollar value. I show pictures of some of the work done at the end of the description.

The floor boards are SPOTLESS. The bottom and rear valances are so clean and untouched. Much has been done to get it freshened up for the new owner. New updated aluminum Hydraulic top rams with new top pump seal was done this week. The convertible top material is excellent condition. The top is like new.

Brand new tires. Spare is great. New suspension bushings. New battery, New Air filters and so on. The last time it was out on the road was when the inspection sticker from 2006 showing only 30 miles different!!

The V12 motor runs great! Nice and quiet and also smooth running as they should be. No oil leaks or smoking at all. I have enjoyed taking out to film it going down the expressway and around town. The ride is amazing. Heavy solid feeling. They are touring cars for sure. The transmission shifts great in all gears. The fluid is very clean. The cooling system has nice green coolant. No leaks at all. The working temperature gauge indicates proper operating temperature.

The body is so clean and stright and there is only one door ding on the rear left quarter panel. The paint is still shining and the car has never seen a machine polisher. The chrome bright work is brilliant as you can see. The rubber trim seals is nice and fresh. The bumper rubber is in fantastic condition since it has been in dark conditions for so long. The lenses are so new looking also.

The interior has spotless carpets that are not faded in any way. The dark blue leather seats, door panels and console are nice and clean. The piping on the drivers seat began to wear a few years into ownership. The wood still retains it's original dark coloring and again since it has been in the dark for 10 years it is not all cracked or faded. The leather wrapped steering wheel looks like new.

The suspension feels great with the new rubber bushings. Tight, responsive and the steering wheel is straight going down the road. The 4 wheel disk brakes have alot of pad but pulsate from storage. They are getting better as it goes more miles. Emergency brakes and cables work. It has anti lock brakes also!

The factory keyless entry, (security system) still operates great! The keys open all locks. The windows all work. The quarter rear windows go up and down as they should when the top is operated. The radio has the code for the security but the radio puts out a buzz. The power antenna stays up. The air conditioning works but not very cold. It has stood up to the time and worked after storage. The heater works. The functions of the air control work properly. It has heated seats with lumbar! The wipers work. The lights work. A fog light has cracks in the glass. The cruise control is not working. Power mirrors work. Top works perfectly and will for years.

This car was one of the very first XJS Convertibles to be imported into the USA states the owner. 6/1988 production year. I have the clean clear New York State title that was issued when the car was brand new ready for the new owner. There is always more projects to do on an older car. A generous amount of time and money has been spent on the car to get is back on the road. The car is on the top 5 soon to be very collectible cars list according to Hagerty! It is very affordable to put on antique insurance since it is just about 30 years old! I am Mike and look forward to helping make this fun and easy.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
