Ebay item 10/5/23
www.ebay.com/itm/196013300424
Car has a buy it now price of $12,500 for 6 days, seller urbanplnr, 81k miles
Seller's description:
Black exterior with Tan interior. Shows the classic lines better than any other color!
This was my son's car of choice for Prom last year. He drove it to school and parked it near the teacher's lot and had a week of "I love that teacher's car!!" or "I can't believe a teacher is driving my dream car!" It demands attention and ended up being used in the school's welcome video for this year. If I could only have been that cool in my youth... clearly it must skip a generation.
This is the XJS convertible with the contemporary appearing "face lift" with the large headlights, and the larger 6.0L V12 engine and the great news is that it has less than 82k miles on the odometer. This car came to a friend of mine from an estate in NC and only averaged 2,000 miles a year while being stored during the winter months. Even after sitting for weeks this classic English vehicle starts up nicely and comes to life ready to pounce. This convertible has power seats, power windows, power convertible top, lumbar support, and cruise control. Everything is working as it should.
This Jaguar is in average to good condition for being 30 year old next year. It is not a collector car, and is a great driver that rewards you with the attention a car 6 or 7 times the value gives. This is a great vehicle to turn heads while not dropping all your cash. On the exterior there are a few blemishes and comes with an OEM parade boot cover to dress up when the top is down. Speaking of which, the top was not treated with sealant as canvas tops should be and there for is threadbare and needs to be replaced. Since I kept it covered and only drove it with the top down it wasn't a priority of mine. Price reflects that this will need to be accomplished to keep up on maintenance. The new owner can decide like I that it was not a priority. Due to hitting a traffic cone on the highway the lower front air dam was replaced with NOS this spring.
Inside the car is clean with all the wood veneer in nice condition. These cars are a joy to drive and ride along in style. It's quick and nimble for a big heavy English grand tourer, but it really eats up the miles and earns lots of smiles!!
A few items that need to be addressed (if you wish). The wire wheels added to these by the importer don't hold their finish and need to be detailed off the vehicle, and may need to be re-chromed. However, I'm including a brand new set of 4 quantity CHROME 16" JAGUAR XJS VANDEN PLAS OEM WHEELS RIMS. Rim sitting by the front passenger wheel. These are in high demand and are $600 each or $2,000 for the set with shipping, so a nice bonus to dress this Kitty up!
Other known issues: The armrest suffers from someone wearing a watch and letting it damage the leather. These are available for replacement. Seats are supple, but do show creasing. I've treated the leather and there does not appear to be any weak crevasses, but some attention/cleaning/professional detailing may make these less visible. Again, these were not a bother to me, but I want to recognize there current appearance.
