Ebay item 9/18/22

www.ebay.com/itm/185585347575

Opening bid $15,000 reserve not met 0 bids buy it now price $28,500, 6 days left in auction, seller drmpr, 29k miles.

Seller's description:

As a retired Jaguar Chief Vehicle Engineer I wanted to own all the cars I worked on during my time there including the XJS Convertible which I planned to ship over to my retirement home in Europe.

It is now over 25 years since production of the XJS Convertible ceased and it is now considered a true classic with values steadily increasing.

I searched for a long time to find a low mileage example in excellent condition and finally found this car which I purchased in 2016.

I went through the whole car and replaced anything that wasn't in 100% condition including:

- Front Brake Disc and Pads

- Also bought rear brake pads but they didn't need changing so these are included in the sale for fitment when needed.

- Front Shocks

- Replaced various small trim items which were showing showing signs of wear e.g. Sun Visor mounting clips.

- The four Interior Speakers were upgraded to Rockford Fosgate units.

- The standard Jaguar radio was replaced with a new classic style Radio (Custom Autosound) with AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth

(the old radio is included in the sale).

- Replaced the tunnel 'ski slope' wood with new wood including two chrome cupholders instead of the standard ashtrays (original wood part retained and is included).

- Upgraded the shifter knob.

- Also bought a set of wheel spacers to improve the stance of the car but did not get round to fitting these so they are included also.

- The car originally came with keys only so I recently bought two remote units but have not got these programmed but they are included.

- Bought a Workshop Manual which is included.

After this work and using the car in the US for a year or so I shipped it over to Europe only to find that despite two years of trying

I was unable to get it registered in Europe due to the differing vehicle regulations.....?

I had no choice but to ship it back to the US !

Have been able to use it in the US but as I will only be in the US once a year from now on and I don't want It sitting in a garage for most of the year, regrettably I must now offer it for sale.

Car has a few minor blemishes including a chip on the front of the hood which has been touched up but these do not detract from the overall appearance of the car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
