Seller's description:
We are pleased to offer for sale this beautiful 1985 Jaguar XJ-SC 3.6 Manual
Finished in Cobalt Blue metallic and with 99’000 miles the car is in a truly superb all round condition. The bodywork is excellent, panels straight and with a beautiful paint finish, the car presents wonderfully. It really is a very attractive car with great presence. The custom light grey leather interior is also in super order and is virtually immaculate having been beautifully and expensively retrimmed including carpets. Whilst not its original specification, the interior combination is very attractive and in my opinion sets the car off beautifully. The wood cappings are excellent and original. The roof is perfect in operation, has been retrimmed and remains in excellent condition. The rear screen has also been replaced and a tonneau for the rear hood was commissioned and is in 'as new' condition. The car retains its original ‘starfish’ alloy wheels that are in immaculate condition having been refurbished and are shod with correct Pirelli 4000 tyres. The bright work and chrome work are excellent with no rust or peeling chrome, some pieces have been replaced with very difficult to obtain new pieces including all 4 bumper corners.
On the road the XJS performs faultlessly, starts 1st time with no smoke, has plenty of power, delivered just as you would expect from the legendary straight 6. The manual 'box is smooth in operation and selects easily. The ride is classic Jaguar, and there are no noticeable rattles or clunks from the suspension (it has had a hugely expensive historic overhaul) and on a 100 mile test drive the car was a joy. The car has its original and full service book with lots of stamps, all at the correct intervals along with a huge and comprehensive history file documenting the excellent care and maintenance the car has received over the last 34 years.
In conclusion, a very smart XJ-SC that is ready to be enjoyed, has clearly been well loved, has had huge expenditure and presents very nicely. Comes with 12 months MOT, full detail valet and fresh oil service.

A very rare XJS C 3. 6 straight 6 manual Targa. Thought to be more desirable than the V12. This car was built in ‘83 but retained by the factory as a test car. So she had various test upgrades at the factory including a later air intake and ECU.
The car was then released for sale and registered in 1985.
The veneer and leather is pristine the rear pram hood is crystal clear. I had the targa panels recovered inside and out last year and new tyres all round. There is surface rust where rear bumper attaches and at the bottom of the passenger door. The floor and boot pans are solid and original. Mileage is c105, 000. New MOT last month no advisories. £10, 950.
I have loved this car for 6 years the previous owner for over 20! A stunning car which I fell in love with at first sight. Beautiful drive with 4 comfortable seats. option of removable targa panels with just rear roof down or fully convertible.
