www.ebay.co.uk/itm/jaguar-xjs-convertible-5-3-V12-RARE-4-SEAT-CONVERSION-/231173 ...

On eBay UK March 08, 2014. Location West Yorkshire, Leeds. Has 80,009 miles with an Unknown Reserve Price. Listing says "JAGUAR XJ-SC, 5.3, V-12, CONVERTIBLE, 4 SEATS. I bought this car in 2011 making me the 9th keeper. Car was born on 11 June 1987. Over 20 MOT certificates come with the car and at least seven thousand pounds of various bills and servicing. All bills and paperwork come with the car. Original colour was Blue prior to me buying the car now being Silver. Grey leather seats and also a rear seat conversion on 27 June 2003 making this car a rare find as you normally only have room for two. Mileage in the last seven years has been under 5000 - just over 750 miles a year. I have plotted all the mileage with the help of the MOT certificates which makes this a true mileage of 80,009 which I have only done about five hundred miles since September of 2011. As this car is only on the road over the summer time and is garaged all the time. I got the MOT in Sept and serviced then put the car to bed a week later. So who ever buys the car I will put six months tax on the car ready for you to pick her up. MOT lasts until Oct 2014. I have put her through three MOT's and each time she sailed through. Mechanically she seems very sound however front passenger side window sticks and the heated seats need looking at. I never had time-always had the roof off. The roof is taken down manually which gives you the option of just front driver/passenger or both and rear or all together. I have replaced the headlining which makes a big difference with these cars. All tyres with plenty of tread. Some attention will be needed on the bodywork with rust coming through in the normal places- wheel arches sills, etc. has paint chips on the door edges but she still looks the business polished up. A great long term investment with all the power and speed you will ever need while looking as if you have won the lottery. Reason for sale is pure and simple, I need the garage space for storage".

Auction description:

Very rare opportunity

Estimated at £7,000 - £8,000

Lot details

Registration: D61 HUU

Chassis: SAJJNACW3CA141433

Odometer: 82,000

Transmission: Automatic

MOT: August 2026

Less than 20 left on UK roads

Fresh MOT

Good history file

Great scope for improvement

A rare chance to own a rare car - we understand that there are less than 20 of these V12 Jaguar XJ-SCs on UK roads at this time. Having only covered approx. 3,000 miles in the last 15 years, we suspect that this example has been off the road or in storage for part of this time.

Whilst the V12 drives very well, there is no doubt that with some time, effort and obviously some expenditure, you could improve it immeasurably. We can see from our HPI report that a colour change took place in 2008 when the original blue paintwork was changed to the current silver - the paint has stood up quite well and would only need a machine polish to sparkle again. The wheels will also require some attention, we can’t see any damage but refurbishment would transform the overall look. Unfortunately, the bumpers are starting to rust, particularly the rear. Inside, the leather although worn, does not seem to have any tears or rips, some minor trim pieces are missing.

Spend some time on eBay and Marketplace and you could source pretty much everything you need to make this a very tidy Jaguar. If you enjoy the ‘fettling’ side of classic car ownership, this could be one for you.

The Jaguar was driven 50 or so miles to our saleroom and the vendor reported no issues. We have a thick history file on hand that we would encourage you to peruse.

Offered at a sensible estimate, a closer look is recommended.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
