For Sale on eBay UK on March 04, 2016. Asking UKL 4,500 with 91,200 miles.
1985 Jaguar XJ-SC 5.3 HE V-12 Auto Coupe with Cabriolet Roof and Targa Top. I acquired this vehicle about 18 months ago as a non starter with the full intention of bringing it back to a usable classic. I have recently got it up and running and it purrs like a kitten, so mechanically all seems good with no problems. I don't want to sell it but I have had an opportunity come up which I'd be a fool to turn down. I think it would be a good project with the service history and I don't think it would take a lot to get it on the road as it was last MOT'd in 2013. Dark Grey with Grey leather interior, wooden dash and steering wheel, CD player usual XJS refinements, alloy wheels non standard. Overall a clean car but will need light restoration and brakes servicing. Last MOT was in 2013 and only done 9 miles since. Car has some history but most importantly the original service book is still with it as well as the jaguar hand book. It's got full service history from new 1986 up to 2004 where it's stopped at 83,000 miles, which means it's only done 8,000 miles since 2004. Largely stored for the past 6.5 years. Remarkable condition considering. Targa top has a couple of small tears which I think could be repaired by a specialist although this isn't a immediate concern as they are minor, the trim as shown inside the Targa top is drooping and will need replacing, the trim on the convertible part is ok. The overall Trim is amazingly clean along with the carpets. Very light bubbling on paintwork on one quarter panel and boot, the rest of the paintwork looks good. Underneath has not been investigated but the sills show signs of needing attention. Rear tail light lens has been broken since being parked in current place. Mechanically sound and running well. Rear brakes will need attention due to not being moved but the wheels turn fine although a pick up/recovery truck would be advised. The car could be viewed but where its parked is fully locked and secured so getting the timing right with the owner being there is a bit of a headache, but not impossible.
