Seller's description:
1991 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible
At a Glance
Original Car | Regency Red | Beautifully Presented | Lovely Interior | Low Reserve
Mileage~100,835 on clock
Transmission Automatic
Engine 5.4-litre
Location Sheffield
Fitted with the original wheels, which are in superb condition having been refurbished in 2015. The tyres are a matching set that have covered just a few hundred miles.
Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn or over 10 years old.
Bodywork
Walking around the Jaguar, the panel gaps appear to be equal. There are a couple of very, very minor dings that could easily be removed by a paintless dent removal specialist.
We’ve highlighted our observations in more detail through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.
Paint
Finished in the lovely Regency Red Metallic, the paintwork presents very well. We would say this is largely original, with just the odd small area having been touched up over the years. There are a couple of minor chips, consistent with the age and mileage.
Graham has recently spent £450 to have the car polished and ceramic-coated to help protect it and, of course, show it off at its best.
The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there yourself. Please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car to make up your own mind about the condition of the paint.
Glass and Trim
All the windows look to be in good order, with no noticeable chips or scratches.
The chrome work is in excellent condition, with no significant signs of age or excessive tarnish.
The fabric roof is in excellent condition and works correctly, lowering and raising in the designated time. There is also a tonneau cover which fits snugly over the roof.
Seats and Carpets
The magnolia leather complements the exterior perfectly and is in excellent condition. There is some minor colour wear to the driver’s side bolster, but this is minimal for the age and mileage.
The matching magnolia carpets are in good condition throughout and have been protected with a set of fitted mats, which are also in good condition.
Inside the boot, the spare wheel, jack, and original tool kit are in place.
Dashboard
The dashboard is free from any noticeable scuffs or damage. Finished with a burr walnut fascia, which has some light lacquer crazing in places - typical to see on vehicles of this age.
The instruments are working correctly, and the odometer shows ~100,835 miles have been enjoyed.
Engine and Gearbox
The V12 fires up without hesitation and idles smoothly, with no reported issues. This was confirmed after Graham had a pleasurable drive for two and a half hours to see us for the shoot.
Fitted with an automatic gearbox, the Jaguar pulls well and enjoys an effortless gear change as it works its way through the range.
Suspension and Brakes
On the road, the XJS soaks up the road just as Jaguar intended, and no knocks or bangs were heard coming from the suspension.
The brakes operate as expected, bringing the car to a stop with no issues reported. There did sound like one rear brake was binding a little, which Graham is going to get rectified before the auction ends.
