Extremely rare, one-owner, hand-built Jaguar XJS in wonderful condition.
As officially verified by the Jaguar Heritage Trust, the INSIGNIA programme was a unique project by Jaguar’s “Special Vehicle Operation”, where craftsmen built only 64 XJS Insignia cars worldwide. The majority were left-hand drive, with only 7 right-hand drive XJS Insignia models made.
This was a rare and exclusive offering, allowing buyers to customise their vehicles with unique paint, wheels and a higher grade of leather and carpets.
The Car
This one-owner Jaguar XJS ‘Insignia’, finished in blue over a cream interior, has been owned from new and has covered around 80,000 miles. It has done very minimal mileage in the last four years, having been stored indoors in a dry environment.
The exterior presents wonderfully and is remarkably clean for the age of the car. As shown in the photos, there are no major knocks or scrapes. The vendor mentions one slight door ding, no larger than a ten pence coin. The car has fairly new tyres with very little mileage, so there is plenty of life and tread remaining, it also comes with new wheel centre caps (See photos)
Likewise, the interior is in remarkable condition. The leather still looks fresh, and the car had a new headlining fitted a couple of years ago, so unlike most XJSs, it is not sagging. The wood trims show no signs of lacquer peel or fading. The vendor notes that the aerial is a little lazy and not working to its full potential.
The car has recently received a new Bosch battery and comes with a large amount of service history including the original bill of sale. It has been SORN for the last couple of years due to the owner being unable to drive it.
This is a great opportunity to own a very rare Jaguar XJS, which would make a wonderful weekend toy to enjoy on fine, dry days.
* M20 DEL will not be sold with the car, the new Registration is M375 VCT *
