Auction description:
Lot 6
By Charterhouse Auctioneers
Registration number CNW 877T, chassis number JNAEW3AC100108, green. Paul Banham founded Banham Conversions in the 1970s, offering bespoke convertible conversions to Ferrari 400, Aston Martin DBS & V8 and Rolls-Royce models. The company progressed to offer convertible conversions on both the Jaguar XJS and XJ6 as well as offering facelift kits for the XJS in the 1980s. This extremely rare XJSS convertible conversion was based on a pre HE XJS automatic coupé. During the conversion the interior was upgraded to cream leather with contrasting piping and the wheels were changed to wide alloy examples. There is an accompanying history file with numerous photographs showing the conversion in various stages from the initial donor car stripped down and to the finished article, some receipts and MOTs. Having been in storage for some time the Jaguar will require some recommissioning but once this has been completed the Jaguar will offer an unusual and distinctive alternative to the usual XJS. V5, V5C, no MOT
